Just got back to the Hotel from the pre-runs today and loved it. Everyone needs to get signed up for this one. They've got some very nice roads plotted out all around here. Thanks to all who are putting this together. It's not to be missed. The Meet hotel is very nice and very well positioned for this gathering. Anyone who's on the fence, just jump on in. And hey, Kentucky has some of the best gas prices in the country.

See ya in August.....
Is it nessassary to sign up for a run? I definitely want to do at least on, but with my hectic schedule, I've no clue whether I'll be there thursday night, friday morning or friday night.......etc. Can we just jump in on a run?

No you dont have to sign up for a run.... There will also be runs on Sat...
Location: buzzard..what buzzard..do you see a buzzard..I didn't see a buzzard...or that little sparrow either- or dat squirrel
Well after about 900 miles in around 28 hrs with about 4 hrs sleep
I arrived home at 11:23 last night (Garmins are VERY predictable...not 11:30...11:23)
Start by thanking our hosts...KIM & JR put putting on a great check run.
all the glitches (save for Carmen's limp mode) were worked out
PEOPLE.....when you think of Kentucky you think HORSE FARMS...they got em
great houses...fantastic stone walls...and great scenery....lotsa BLUE grass too.
My wife will love the trip down COLBY Road....so many farms...so many photo-op's
974 was a real treat.....a lane and a half wide of 2D twisties winding through heavily trees countryside...
Red River gorge....make sure you have a camera with lotsa batteries....beautiful scenery....and the tunnel carved out of natural rock is awesome
227 HOT SHOE ...what can I say...I give it an A-...but then the only A+ is 555....this comes pretty close....some serious twisties...(I know...I wobbled on one bad blind curve)
and JR did a great job of leading us all the way at 60 mph....proably too slow for Mr. Kostecki..or Mr. Crenshaw...but twas fine for me.
ANYONE sitting on the bubble TIME TO COMMIT. You won't find a better Regional this year.
I am sure MANY pictures will be posted in the next day or so.....
There is still time to register and reserve a room. Kim did a great job on securing hwe Holiday Inn and the banquet facilities are par-none (that means great)

I knew you would love it D2, I just love the country side, breath taking isnt it? AND there are NO ROAD APPLES for DARKWING so he should be happy. Kim is a very good host, and JR is great at leading the groups. We will have such a wonderful time in August, thank you D2 for helping out..........hope you get some sleep today.

KYGXP : No you dont have to sign up for a run.... There will also be runs on Sat...
The idea behind signing up for runs at this point is to allow us to gauge interest in the different options we are offering. We want to limit the groups to 7 cars if possible, as the 9 we ran with yesterday was pushing the limit. Each group needs a leader that knows the route, and we will need to know how many groups are going to run so that we know how many leaders to train. The winery run in particular will need an advance count so that we can coordinate the visit with the wineries, and the bourbon tour may need a count as well.
In late July or early August there will be a final run schedule and an official signup. You won't necessarily have to sign up to participate in a run, but some of them may allow a limited number of available participants, and if they fill up you won't be able to go. We will try to keep everything as flexible as possible, of course.
