I posted this on the GXP Owners forum also. Last week I wrote.....
Come on folks, only 37 paid out of 87 registered! That's a paltry 42.5%!!!!
Less than 2 months to go to the deadline. I, for one, feel like this is a real bargain at $50.00 per person considering what we will get back. So, in an effort to help Kim and her folks from feeling like the bad guys, I'm going to try to post a weekly reminder until we have at least the first 50 paid. If my posts are a PIA, then so be it. Want my reminders to end, send in your $$$$.
And today I wrote......
40 paid out of 90 registered. We improved slightly over last week from 42.5% to 44.4% paid. Only 10 more to go to reach the coveted first 50, so if you want the special giveaways that only the first 50 will receive, send in your payment so you don't miss out.
About 2 1/2 years ago I had the pleasure of driving from the Louisville airport to Lexington (where I spent the night at the Hampton) and the next day from Lexington into Eastern Kentucky and then back to the airport. Beautiful country and scenery even on an interstate, so I can just imagine the great runs on back roads that are planned. This is going to be something special and Kim, et al, have worked very hard to make this a first-class event.
I'm looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. See all of you in Lexington.

As some of you know, I'm trying to figure a way out to do this. I can't commit until I get some stuff figured out.
If I can make it, the best I can do is leave work a little early on Friday night, get in late, run Saturday, and come back Sunday. I'll figure out a way to get to KY...there is always a way and I always figure it out! Just takes a little time and some doing!
Gotta do a little after party action with Midlife again!!

Your idea is duly noted. I'll check on that. It solves a few problems for me, but could create others.
I still don't think I can take Friday off work though.
Hey JM...I found a few options...
$100 out of Springfield Friday night. I don't get in until 11:00 pm so someone would have to get me at the airport.
Or $128 out of Bloomington. Same deal. Leave at 5:00 pm Friday. Get in around 11:00 pm. For $138 I can leave at 4:00 pm and get in at 8:20 Friday night! I'd at least be there for some festivities. I'd have to find a ride home on Sunday, but I may be able to do that.
Now we're talking!!!

I bet we could pass the hat to get the $38 buck to get GWG to the 2 hours early

You my dear have no idea what keeping a low profile means!!!! You will be just as naughty in KY as you are everywhere you go...........
Seriously...that's not true! I can be the biggest wallflower ever! Years of being told how horrible I am and how I do everything wrong took it's toll and left a mark. I just mask it well! I'm only really fun if I'm super comfortable around people and the people I'm around are fun. And the people I've met on the forums...are really super fun!!!
Otherwise I can be really standoff-ish and shy. Here's an example...at T2TR I made dashark do all the talking when we gave Dino his crown or when we gave him the Thank You card. I totally chickened out! But I could get up on a chair in the background...but I had to be in the background. (I like excuses to stand on stuff...it makes me tall for a change!!)
So if I need to keep it toned down...I can certainly do so! But it's so much more exciting to have a good laugh and keep things lively! Everyone should laugh really hard at least once a day!! And if that means I have an embarrassing moment or 2 and the laughter comes at my expense...I'm perfectly ok with that! It's worth making someone else's day a little bit better!
OK, let's not hijack this thread too much. I'm going to do what I can to be in Lexington in August. No passing the hat...I won't accept it. I'll work my tail off and cut back on things to make it happen. There will be a way...I just need to find it.

Thanks!! I took the stocking and the remaining gift items you gave me with me to Delaware. Counted them up on Saturday night when I got back to IL and there are only 23 left! Lost 3 in Delaware! I figured I'll just take them to every event until they all disappear. We can restock at that time!! Let's see how long it takes!!
It took me years to crawl back out of my shell. And I still go back in it and hide. Like at Mecca, mikep, SV1 and I were hanging out together and not really interacting with many other people. I finally said to them that it wasn't right and we should meet people. MikeP inspired me! He's shy and was a little intimidated by going up to people and introducing himself. I figured why not just start going up to random people around us and start introducing myself to show him how easy it could be!! I had to force myself to do it, but I ended up meeting people I was looking for there in the first place! And I met others that I've posted back and forth with on the forum! It was really neat!! Besides, the worst thing they were going to do was think "Who the hell is this? She's nuts!"...but that didn't happen! They were genuinely excited to meet me and I was just as excited to meet them!
6 years ago...I never would have done that! I'm a grad assistant right now for the Dale Carnegie Course. Took it 5 years ago and was a grad assistant for another class right after I took it. I was sinking a few months back. The timing of this course it perfect and exactly what I needed to step things up! I've already changed! I smile and say hi to everyone! I tell them what a great job they are doing and how I appreciate what they do. It's amazing what a huge difference that makes!
You can do this!! I know how much effort you've put into this event. It will be fabulous and your hard work will pay off!! I want to see it! I love being a part of something so great that brings so many great people together with common interests! We'll have a blast!! People will come!!! It will be big!!!
