This will be a two day event with Blackjack road finishing up
day one and beginning day two.

Saturday night will be a free night for everyone to do
what they want in Downtown Galena. They are
free to dine alone or recruit others for dinner.

I'll start working on lodging after I get the routes for
both days nailed down. (Or close to it).

It's not a question of where he grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.

Exact meeting point hasn't been determined yet, but it will
be somewhere off of 90 East of Rockford. (Probably 90 and route 20)

Still planning the exact run and will do another pre-run in October.
Should have day one close to nailed down after that.

I will post all routes once it's finalized.

I couldn't make T2TR-II Both Ways

I've been working 16 hour days, 7 days the past few weeks.

I need to get out and throw my little green gocart into some real curves.

What is the proposed route? I'm thinking that as long as it's not raining, I'm going to try out the route since there is NOTHING here in the Chicago metro area that's truly curvy (well, at least there aren't any free of traffic and cops!).

Might just inspire the T-shirt design.

Funny you should bring this up.

Debbie and I just did another pre-run yesterday
and finalized the route for day one. We plan on running again
to narrow down times and mileage.

We will meet in Rockford. (Time and date to be determined)

Take 90 to Rockford exit Route 173 West. (Left)

173 ends at 251 and becomes 17 (Ralston Road)
We will meet at the Road Ranger gas station / Attitudes restaurant.
(Plenty of parking)

Take 17 West to 24 (Meridian) turn left.

Right on 17 (Cemetery Road)

Right on 70 (Trask Bridge Road.)

Left on 78 (Trask Bridge Road) becomes Cedarville Road
Keep your eyes open.. Very easy to miss

Left on IL 75

Right on Winneshiek Road

Right on IL 26

Left on Scioto Mills Road

Left on Cedarville Road

Right on CR-6 (Galena Road) Becomes Stagecoach Trail.

:Warning: The town of Nora is a speed trap-drop down to 30mph

Left on Winslow Road (Town of Warren)

Right on IL 78 (Tisdell Ave)-Becomes Main Street

Left on Water Street

Quick right on Galena - Becomes Stagecoach Trail
(Very close to the highest elevation in Illinois)

:Warning: Another speed trap town

Left on Scout Camp Road. (Town of Apple River)

Right on Lake Road #2 (On the left hand side is an Evergreen Landscape)

Left on Apple Canyon Road

Left again on Apple Canyon Road (If you dont turn it becomes Canyon Club Drive
which will take you down by the lake. Very pretty.)

Go straight on Brandt (Very Fun)

Right on Schapville Road (Very Fun)

Right on Elizabeth Scales Mound Road.

First left on Cording Road (Very fun-Very pretty)

Left on Stagecoach Trail

(You will see a blue road sign listing Galena Cellars Vineyards)
Turn right on Ford Road (Right after blue sign) I have missed this road twice!!!!!

We will be stopping at the Winery (On left hand side of road) (Very pretty)

Right on Council Hill Road

Right on Stagecoach Trail
You have just gone in a big circle and will now pass Ford road

Stagecoach becomes Scales Mound / Fields / Claude Street

Left on Bench. You will now be one street over from the main drag thru
the town of Galena. It's a one way road.

Take Bench to the stop light and turn left.

This is main street and we will parade thru downtown Galena.
This can be very busy and slow going

At the end of the strip we will turn right on Franklin, and another right on
Water / Back street. This will take us back to Route 20

Left on 20

Right on 4th / Blackjack Road (Big time fun)

Right on 84

This will take us to the town of Hanover. We will wait for everyone to catch up.

Left on Jefferson

Left on Hanover

Left on Derinda Road.

This will take us back to 20.

Left on 20 to get to the hotel. (To be determined)

Day two route is still in the works.

I was scoping out possible run locations for next year and noticed this was the best spot along the Mississippi...at least within a few hours of us! If the date works for me next fall, I'll do it!!!
