This bridge was one of the first bridges to cross the Mississippi on Route 66 from Illinois to Missouri. It is now owned by Trailnet, and is opened to cars only on special occasions. This is in conjunction with the Mother Road Festival taken place in Springfield Illinois. We will meet at the bridge on the Missouri side, and hope to leave around 9:00 am, taken as much of the old 66 route to Springfield, were there is a large parade that day and a three day car show. Did this last year and had a blast, so let me know if interested. Oh before I forget there would be a minimal charge for doing this, because Trailnet has to have someone there to open it, then close it after we are done. This charge I am hoping would be no more then $10 per car.
