Sunday Sept 21st is the day! Start in Morris and run the Route including straight through on Route 71!!!!!!
We've waited 2 years for this moment!!!! And it's finally come!
Lunch at the Cajun Connection (If you've never been there...this place is hilarious! We'd like you to meet Ragin Cajun Ron!!! )
Some friends from work are interested in going. Looks like there is some live music that day as well. If anyone wants to go, I'll probably stop and do this.

Diana thanks for posting here, as she mentioned this is not going to be a big formal run. We will probably just pick a meeting time and all meet up at the truck stop in Morris, and make a run similar to the one we did awhile back, except we can run through starved rock (no detour) and we will change luch from starved rock lodge to cajun connection.
I talked to "Ragin Cajun Ron" this morning, and am working on getting a menu posted here and on the Sky side, just so you know not everything there is spicey so if you don't like spicey food not to worry ragin Ron will fix you up.
MountainKing, mikep77 thanks for the interest, I'll look forward to seeing you if you can make it.
Anyone who thinks they might want to join in the run just post here or on the Sky side:
Lunch will probably be around $10 - $20 per person (my guess is the top menu item would be about $18 and a basic sandwich with fries might be around $8-$9 don't shoot me if I'm little off)

We will have to see about Old Stage being flooded out, I'm guessing baswed on the curent crest prediction for later in the week we may be ok. The current forecast is for sunny and 77 Sunday.

The meeting is scheduled for Sunday the 21st at 11:00 AM at "R" place in Morris(this is the truck stop on the north-east corner of Rt71 & I-80)
Right now the reports are that Morris will be completely below flood stage by Sunday, also they are now reporting the Rt178 bridge by Starved Rock is open They also are reporting the bridge on Rt89 is now open also, the approach on this bridge is probaly only about five feet higher than the Rt71 approach to starved rock so there is agood chance Rt71 will be open also. (I will try and run the Rt71 river section Friday night, and will report my results)
The weather is reporting sunny and 78 degrees so we will be making this run no matter what, the only concern right now is that we may have to by-pass a couple roads, but even in the worst case we should be able to run the twisties inside starved rock even if we have to start from the west and turn around at the eastern entrance to the park and retrace our way back through the park.
Also anyone making the run, we will be setting the radios to 0-1 band, and I will have one extra radio with me.
