There are usually several other auto aficionados who stay there when the Fast Lane school is 'in session'. I think Capt_Kludge is staying there too. There is another hotel in town where some of the 'students' sometimes stay. I think it would be kinda fun if all the Kappa guys/gals could get together somewhere Friday night for some social bench racing and lie swapping.

See you there.
Hey Carpe, I got your phone call.
Clearbra is at the BW as well.
Crimson Avenger is coming as well. Don't know where he is staying.
I'll prolly be heading out around 6pm from corona. Should be there by 8pm.

OK, Capt_kludge I notice that your signature is not up to date. I know of two significant mods not listed there. I'm wondering . . . just haven't gotten around to the update, or being a sleeper for those chance testosterone fueled encounters with other Kappa drivers at the occasional traffic light.

Aww, maaan. So, I'm gonna be the only N/A Kappa out there?? Fine. I'm blowin razzberries at ya'll's backsides as you zip down the straight. I'm coming up Sat AM, so tell some lies for me Friday night.

I caught a lapping-day last month with FastLane. There's been a bit of repaving, so part of the track was green. No big deal, but you can feel it. Yeah, that's it. You turbo guys might want to tip toe through those parts...

See ya Saturday!!

Coming Friday

I will be up there on Friday night. I plan on leaving work a little early and getting there around 8p.m. at the latest. I am staying with Joe (Kpt Kludge) at the Best Western in Landcaster.

PM me for my cell number if you want to hook up Friday night.

Clear

See you there. It is too much for me to drive up from south Orange County in the morning and be sharp and ready for a day on the course.

Watch out for the speed traps on the 14. After a BMW Z3 had a heat problem last month they started getting on us to take it easy on the cool down laps. It's gonna be warm, so something to keep in mind.

Several of us coming up from the south and east won't be on the 14. But I am sure that the 15 and 138 will have its share of traps.

Accuweather today forecast for Rosamond was "blazing sun" and 96 degrees. Luckily, it mentioned nothing about any breeze except in the evenings. I don't like the wind out there kicking up the sand and grit while we're pushing the ponies. I'll be packing a cooler with ice and water.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to be careful to cool down the turbo properly after hot laps in that kind of heat.

Im rolling into the event with just my exhaust and cat. I was gonna do a quick rush to put a ZOK sans springs/shocks kit together but I figure it will be a good contrast for next time Im there.

Ya, But it's going to be a warm one. So us turbo guys. Especially me, will have to watch engine temps. When I have run autocross here, I have to be careful on the hot days not to push it too hard for extended periods.

New pavement? Hmmm. Well, it is what it is. We'll just have to deal with it.

I'm having the bra I had on my NA modified tomorrow to fit the GXP facia. I;m hoping it will be ready by Friday afternoon. I want to have it on Saturday at The Streets. (That would be so that when I am about ready to lap Capt_kludge and he slides off the pavement into the gravel as I press him through the turns, I don't get sand blasted. . . . Of course, Joe, you know I'm just kidding.)

It would be nice if they would open up the loop at the north end of the track this time. I know they probably will not, but it would be nice.

The new pavement really wasn't much of an issue, but makes a handy excuse in the afternoon. IIRC, a few places, like the line after the apex of turn 7 had new asphalt. No idea what you're talkin about with the gravel , but I'd guess off track, aka: remote parking, is every bit as clean as the track. I doubt they'll open the bowl and backstretch without their EMT, and certainly not on club days. What's to be gained there? Ya just go fast.
