So should we all just plan to meet in the parking lot around 8:30? We can head out to dinner or chill at the hotel from there.
Sounds good

Lol, I suspect the heat will be the true thing to beat.
They tell folks to checkin at 8am, but Fastlane starts at 8:30. They send the folks who've taken their classes before straight out to the track after a brief session of intros, so say 8:45. Folks on their first day with the school get about an hour in class first. The classroom and skidpad sessions go by very fast, but are invaluable.

When you hit the gate, tell them you're there for FASTLANE driving school. That'll save you any parking or admission fees. They'll direct you off to the right (from the main gate) to the "Streets of Willow".

With almost 100 degree temps expected tomorrow, I can tell you that most of the cars will be heat soaked after just a lap or two. Keep an eye on your temp guage as cooling is this cars weekness. If you get over 240, shut it down.
I ran a road course event here in vegas about two weeks ago and it was a long 2 min course and I was seeing temps in the 230s after a run. I guess we will see how she holds up.
See ya all around 8p.m.

One thing to note once you are inside the gates. Except when you are on the track, OBSERVE THE SPEED LIMITS! They inforce them very strictly.
I am checked in to the hotel (#162). Except it is not a Best Western any more. I changed about a month ago, I am told, to the Antelope Valley Inn.

I think I'm gonna go cheap and book @ the Townhouse in for $55 bucks. This time I won't be driving, just watching, so I don't want to spend tooooo much to do a really cool 3-d movie with 18.1 surround sound!
by the way, its right next door to the best western.
Its always been the AV Inn, it should also be part of Best Western, but maybe they cant meet the standards or cost anymore. I heard they did some remodeling this past year. There are many new hotels in the area and that has pushed them to remodel. Keep in mind that Sierra Highway is hooker ally.
Most of the newer hotels are along the freeway.
Well enjoy the AV, and be prepared for the heat and wind.
Endisky, the motor home is at the house ready for Ya. 943-9519

Saturday was a good day at the Streets of Willow. There was essentially no wind but it was HOT! Really hot. Those Kappa drivers who participated seemed to enjoy the day a lot. Other cars were Lotuses, Miatas, a race-prepped RX-7, a Vette, a Mustang GT, and (are oiu ready for this?) a Lexus 4-dr sedan. There were 9 Kappas there (3 Skys and 6 Solstices), but only 7 or 8 took to the track. Here are a few pictures. Sorry, no action shots. I was too busy driving. I've tried to upload some video to YouTube, but without much luck. I'll keep trying.

Ya we all had a great time. I drove up Angeles Forrest Hiway going to and coming from the track. Was wonderfull
Got almost 2 hrs of video thru the windsheild and my bro in law came out and got some video.
They set up the track a little differently. In the morning they coned off the skid pad and took us thu the cut off just before the skid pad (running CW). They talked about opening the bowl but never did. my lap times were arround 1:19 with the best around 1:17
When they opened up the skidpad times went up to around 1:28 with my best as about 1:25. Instructor took my car out with my bro in law and was turning around a 1:26 so I felt pretty good. I need to go thru the video and rotate it (canera was upside down) cut and save it. Maybe splice it in with my Bro in laws video.
A GREAT time was had by all.
We do need to get some input from Carpe Diem and AdamVIP on their particular exploits
I did not actually see either, but Carpe was right behind me when I heard tire screeching
I'll let him and Adam tell their own stories (liar's club you know) LOL I'm hoping my BIL got video of Carpe LOL He's one up on me now
Yall need to come out!!!!!!!
Joe
