Yep, we need the police to keep "other cars" out of our group. This also enables us to STOP on Lombard for photos - thanks again to Mary, Go Thunda's Daughter who will be our photographer for this event.
I have contacted GM and Saturn to no avail. Saturn gave me a list of dealers in the area and suggested I contact them. I contacted a couple of the local Dealers hoping they would "underwrite" us. One did express an interest early on however I have yet to hear back from their Page Ranking guy.
If the weather holds out I know we will have a memorable day.
We'll keep our fingers crossed that you can join us.

Sonia has done some serious leg and home work on this one! I have been extremely impressed by her efforts. This should be a truely rare event with the kind of access we will be getting to Lombard Street. I hope you can make it Sal, along with everyone else interested in taking part.
Thanks for asking...I have asked Sergeant Carrington if we can start at 9:30am on Sunday, Jan 13th. I will meet with him the first week in January to confirm the start time and where he wants to "stage" us on Lombard before we head down the crooked part.

The blue demon's almost done people. I promise. I mean it's only been three and a half months. Ran into a little glitch with a crack I found in the front end on Wednesday so they are of course fixing that. The rest is done. Primed the nose again this afternoon and painting tomorrow but will probably get the final buff after it cures a while and released to me early next week. Debating on posting pics first or just showing up on the 12th diner. I doubt I'll be able to wait and there are guys outside of California waiting in anticipation so we'll see. It will be a seperate thread but I'll post a link to it here.

If you can fill in the question marks that will help - especially for the Saturday night dinner so I can make arrangements with Chevy's which is next to the Hilton Garden Inn in Emeryville.
I am also working on a lunch location for Sunday - details will follow the week before the meet..but I am thinking that we will go across the GG Bridge over to Sausalito (easier parking than trying to stay in the City). It will be an early lunch for the folks who need to get on the road for the longer drive home!

She has been a loyal and supportive member of the West Coast Kappa Car Club, as many of you have been. As a gesture of goodwill and support, the WCKCC would like to help subsidize the event. We are willing to extend our insurance coverage to all attendees AND offset the cost paying $5.00 towards the event fee for all existing WCKCC members participating. If you are not yet a member but are planning to join, we will pay $5.00 for you as well.
In no way are we trying to hijack this event or take credit for the efforts of others. We are just excited that this event is taking place and want to assist our members in anyway, we can.

I have attached a copy of the insurance release form that MUST be completed before participating in event. Sonia will have copies there but we would appreciate you printing and signing the form in advance and bringing it with you. We hope this insurance will satisfy the city of SF. If it does then this will save an additional $100. If not, and the city is concerned about personal property destruction on Lombard St. then the separate $100 policy will need to be secured. Either way, the vehicle liability insurance the WCKCC is offering is still a wise precaution.

Yes, you can renew for the upcoming year at the meet in San Francisco. First year dues are prorated depending on/during which quarter you join. All subsequent years, (renewals) are a flat $20. Our year, (first quarter) actually starts April 1st. Therefore, your membership is good through the end of March. You can wait until then to renew, or you can pay now. Your renewed membership would then be good until March 31st 2009.
I have spoken to the other Board members and we have decided to extend a courtesy discount to potential WCKCC members who cannot make the meet. Here is how it will work.
If you make the meet and join the WCKCC you can choose between a $5.00 offset to the event fee or a $5.00 reduction in membership dues, (Jan1st 2008 - March 31 2008 and April 1st 2008 through March 31st 2009). Five quarters for the price of four = $20 instead of $25.
For people you want to join but cannot make the photo shoot, we would like to offer them a discount for joining early. So, if you are thinking of joining the West Coast Kappa Car Club but cannot make the meet, mention this post in your application and we will honor the $5.00 discount.
Your dues go to support the club so we can arrange and organize events, offer insurance and give back to our members in way like this.
