As I am once again a free agent in both my personal and professional life and can make my own schedule, it is time for me to come out of hiding. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Transformers movie, and all of you too. Count me in for BBQ, what's on the menu?
Actually, it's in the detailed info thread, but it's good enough that it bears repeating:
"By special arrangement, we are getting into the park early at 6:30 PM--one hour ahead of the general audience. (The special early entrance gate closes again at 6:40 PM, so be EARLY and line up with the rest of us outside the gate.)".
Is this entrance on the north side of the complex, not on the east side with the normal theatre guests?
Seems like that's a pretty common question, so here's the answer I gave on the Sky Forum:

The answer is YES! We're getting in at 6:30 PM, through a special entrance on State Street a full hour early!!
The general public will only be let into the theater at about 7:30, and through the Ramona Ave entrance.
So, YES, we're cordoning off the ENTIRE THEATER!! Now, that's what I call a plan. It helps being a club--you can get special stuff like that.
See you all there!
So, Yup, you understood correctly--special entrance--not the public entrance.

One more thing, we owe you many thanks, Bill. Why? Well, because you were the fellow who put together our VERY FIRST Drive-in Movie Night BBQ feast.
This is now our third annual Independence Weekend Drive-in BBQ. We've come a long ways since that first Drive-in event, and our continued success builds on the foundation that you helped us create.
So, THANKS, Bill!! We're carrying on your tradition, and it will be great to have you with us for year three!
Just logged into the internet and saw the post on the drive in night. Enjoyed the outing last year but on "Holiday" in Ireland and will not get back to the States until Monday.
Driving on the left has been thrill especially coupled with how narrow some of the secondary roads are--absolute blind turns with not enough width for a car and a half much less two. Just pray no one was coming around the turn.
Only a few "Dual Carriageways", basically our standard two lanes on each side of the road and these were for only short sections around some of the larger cities.
No Kappa's on the road but some very good looking sporty small cars--only a few larger cars principally Mercedes.

Well, we'll look forward to seeing you at one of our up coming events... possibly the drive July 18.
Glad you've stayed safe while driving on the left. The width of the roads is more than a bit daunting.
Catch you soon; enjoy the wonderful countryside; safe journey; may the wind be ever at your back.

This is to confirm your Car Club event, scheduled for Sunday, July 5th.
Your party will be about 20 people in 10 cars.
Your party will attend TRANSFORMERS.
We will open the theatre and snack bar early for you convenience.
The movies will start at 8:30.
Your group should enter, at the State Street Gate, between 6:30 and 7:00.
Due to road construction activity on Ramona Avenue, access to State Street from Ramona Ave. is not possible. Please use the following route to the State Street gate. From Mission Blvd. (about 1/2 mile west of the intersection of Mission and Ramona) take Silicon Ave. north to State Street, turn right onto State and proceed east 3/8 mile to the theatre entrance on your right.
Adult admission is $7. Admission for children 5 through 9 is $1.
Remember to dress warmly, and bring blankets & pillows if you plan to sit outside your cars.
You may also want to bring a portable FM radio.
Enjoy the show, and thank you for choosing the Mission Tiki for your event.
I think you can select which movies you want to see at the gate, so it won't hurt to ask...
