WCKCC drive! Los Angeles, CA area. (Sunday Sept 21, 2008 Rim of the World)

Hello guys! Im located in Hacienda Heights, CA (about 20 miles east of Los Angeles).

Does anyone here ever meet up and go on a run?? Im not too familiar with good places to drive but we should try to organize something. I may have friends that'd want to go (they dont own solstice's though). I've been thinking about going to "Rim of the World"

Carlos, this run has been done with the WCKCC last year. Once you get on Highway 38, you drive right by our second home. This coming weekend would have way too much traffic and, believe it or not, the time for top-down driving in the mountains is fast ending. Come to the dinner this Thursday and see if the group is ready to ride.

Well, there is room in the schedule for a date in September....

The WCKCC just finished a run out the Pacific Coast Highway from Brentwood to Oxnard (August 9), and we have an event coming up in the San Deigo area October 3-4.

As Adam says, I love that road too, and we could do it as a September 20 or 21 (end of Summer) drive.

I think this is a great idea!

Here's the route from our previous two drives on the Rim of the World:
Here's the links to our previous years meets going all the way back to November 2005:

Past Meets

And here's this year's schedule:

2008 WCKCC Schedule

In So Cal this year, we've had 6 meets this year, with at least 2 more to go. So, there's always room for one more.

That sounds like a good time. Seems like it would be cooler out than last time too.
I placed a post on the la roadster board as well.

So is this gonna happen? I'm kinda nearing the point of no return (ie I'm nearing the time to call for someone to cover my shift). Don't mean to bug! This would be a great B-day for me :P

It sounds like any day will work, so let's use Sunday Sept 21.

I'll work with Deep-GXP on the details. So, YES!! It's a GO for Rim of the World Sunday Sept 21!

Dangit! I don't get off my cruise ship until the 21st.

Wait, what time do you plan on meeting and where? I might be able to get off the ship and home by 10:00.

Good news, we usually do these runs in the afternoon, especially the shorter ones.

We often start with lunch, then drive after lunch. You might be able to make it.

Watch for the exact plans shortly.

Thats the spirit. Im a little bummed about the tuning day on the 20th being cancelled. This would be a great run to try it out.

I havnt talked to Crimson about the details yet. I've never organized anything like this, and i've never been to rim of the world myself, so i wouldnt know where to start. I'd like to see suggestions from people that have been there before
