WCKCC So Cal Drive-in Movie Night & BBQ [6:30 PM, July 5, Montclair, CA]
Hi Folks!
We're headed to the Drive-in Movies again. Last year's run was so much fun, that we decided it was something that the whole club--all of our districts--would like. Thus, all three districts are having their Drive-in movie night at three locations on the same night, Saturday, July 5.
By special arrangement, we are getting into the park early at 6:30 PM--one hour ahead of the general audience. (The special early entrance gate closes again at 6:40 PM, so be EARLY and line up with the rest of us outside the gate.)
6:30 PM is also when our BBQ dinners from Joey's Barbecue Restaurant are being delivered. (Beverage not included. You can purchase beverages from the Snack Bar or bring your own.)
What's in the BBQ dinner?
Pork Ribs
BBQ Beef Brisket
Potato Salad
Barbecue Beans
Corn Cobette
Garlic bread
What it cost?
$7 per person Admission to the Drive-In
$16 per person for BBQ dinners [admission not included] (current WCKCC members)
$18 per person for BBQ dinners [admission not included] (non-member guests)
$15 per person New Member special discount BBQ dinner rate [admission not included].
How do I sign-up?
Vote in the poll above for which movie combo you like the most (you can vote for more than one)
The movie pair with the most votes will be where most of us line up, but feel free to park up front in one of the other theaters if your choice didn't win.
Post in this thread if you haven't already saying that you're coming.
Show up at the Drive in BEFORE 6:30 PM and pay your $7 per person admission to the Drive-in staff. Park up front, then join us at the picnic tables near the Snack Bar for the BBQ dinner.
They'll have the Snack Bar open for us for drinks and a line free experience to purchase our popcorn and other snacks for the movies.
Show time will be about 8:40 PM, so there'll be plenty of time for dinner and chatting, and plenty of day light to show-off those newest mods.

Reason: Discounted Guest pricing; clarified that theater admission is not included with BBQ dinner purchase; extended BBQ deadline
I think Get Smart is the best choice for a few reasons...
1. I have already seen it and Kung Fu Panda, so I will enjoy the company and not have to worry too much about missing details of the movie (I had to see Transformers again in a real theater to pick up lots of details that are missed due to the poor picture quality at a Drive In.)
2. Get Smart has an Opel GT in it (and two two-seat Roadsters, too!) How can you beat THAT?
Oh sure this just has to be on the day that my wife and I are moving from Hemet to Chino Hills. We might go if we aren't too beat from the move.
Chino Hills? That means you'd be about 8 miles away... The theater is just across the 71 fwy from Chino Hills.
You know, you could just make it your knock off for the day break and have a hearty BBQ dinner with us.
If you want, and you don't think you'll be there until about 7:30 or 8:00 PM, we could save you a spot, and even bring a well insulated bag so that your BBQ dinner would still be nice and hot. I've got just the mechanism: Double insulated hot boxes.
I'll drop you my cell phone by PM and you can let me know if you need us to keep your BBQ hot until you arrive.
Location: SoCal somewhere (I don't have nav, so I'm not quite sure)
Movie-Time, YAY!!!
I'm really looking forward to this . My life's become such a hectic mess lately , I could use even a brief respite. It'll be great to see everyone again, & this'll be an excellent opportunity to use my new camera (I can use all the practice I can get).

Yes, it did. But did he forget to mention it had the old Sunbeam roadster from the old Get Smart tv series, also?
As a matter of fact, he did mention that:

Glad you can make it! See you there!
Well, as I mentioned, they're quite close... We'll see if they think they've done enough work for one day by the time 6:15 PM rolls around, cause it will only take them 15 minutes to drive to the Drive-in...
Besides, when you move, you usually have to order in food the first night anyway because everything's still packed...
Here's the list of folks that I have signed up for the BBQ.
If you've signed up, and don't see your name, drop me a PM and let me know that you got your PayPal receipt. (There's a delay in PayPal, because we do not get notified until the electronic check clears [3 business days]. Credit Cards are immediate.)
I've got some great news for those who tend to decide late...
In talking with our catering service, we are able to add additional dinners to our order on Saturday morning.
What does that mean for us? It means that we have been able to extend the sign-up deadline for the BBQ dinners until 11:30 PM the night before...
The new deadline is 11:30 PM July 4. So if you do want to have your dinner ready and waiting when you get to the drive-in, just sign-up the usual way at our BBQ sign-up site: WCKCC Online 2008 So Cal Drive-in BBQ Registration
This should be GREAT!
Oh, if you do like your ribs without BBQ sauce (the way I like them) just drop me a PM and I can make sure your order has ribs free of sauce.
You can verify that your order has been placed if you get an email from PayPal. If you don't get an email from PayPal, your order didn't go through.
If you pay by "electronic check" instead of by credit card, drop me a PM, or drop me an email using the email address in the PayPal receipt letting me know you've paid. The reason is that for the "electronic check" payment, we don't receive notification until the check clears (usually about 3 business days).
If you use a credit card, our notification is immediate, and we'll make sure you have your dinner!
