Rim of the world sounds cool.
There are plenty of great roads, and views, along Rim of the World. I'll check out possible routes to get the timing close. Any ideas would be very helpful, especially when it comes to places to stop and eat. Any ideas would be welcome, though.

Thanks, Bill! I just spoke with Bill, and he will be taking the helm on the planning and coordination for this event.
Rim of the World is great, but other areas are fair game as well, so those of you reading this, if you have any other suggestions and ideas for entirely different drives in any area of Southern California, let's hear-em! Bill will be working with you to select and hammer out the route.
Again, thanks Bill for stepping up to coordinate this event.

Who's going?
Oops, didn't mean to make it sound like the plans were that far along. I don't want to limit any of the possibilities, yet.
Some of the possibilities Vincent and I have discussed, however briefly, are doing a portion of Rte 66, &/or PCH, Rim of the World, Angeles Crest, and Ortega Hwy. Any additional ideas as to location/route are welcome.
The first question is, who wants to go? Once we have an idea of who, and how many, will be joining this trek, we can figure out where the day will take us.

Carpe turba - seize the traffic
Thank you for the warning, Carpe Diem. It looks as though the construction on Ortega Hwy will not let us have as much fun as possible. Even though traffic will probably not be that bad on a Sunday morning, there will still be closed lanes.
I was looking around, and I found another possibility. Add the Pines to Palms run - Banning to Palm Springs through Idyllwild.

With only 4 people posting on this thread, there isn't much to hi-jack.
Get more people interestd in going, and we can call it even.
Thanks, I realy want to do both
Joe

We could detour in Palmdale to hit Medranos in Lancaster for lunch, May be able to get a large area for meeting. Then head to the Winery (Antelope Valley Winery). Its Sunday so brunch may take up the meeting area. But I can check with the owner to see if he can hold an area for us.
I can also lengthen or shorten the drives as needed. How ever roads in the area are limited.

I wish I could join you all for this run. We are celebrating my nephews graduation that day, and it is a bit far from San Luis Obispo. I am sure it will be a blast.
