Man what a weekend on our side as well. Talked to Sonia earlier today and sounds like you all had a superb time. MAybe someday I'll get back over that way and actually make the yosemite run with you. I missed last years cause of work too.
Anyway, for those interested, I have attached a link to our run on this side. On page 45 (linked below) see post number 1329 for my post run comments and then go to page 47 post number 1383 for a 6 to 7 minute video I put together and just posted. Yeah 1383 post so far. This was a monster event.
Thanks for the link to your run, looks like you guys had a great time!
Wish you could have joined us in Yosemite. The weather was perfect, the crowds...not so much. We didn't get to stop and take pics like we were able to in October, but I still love the place.
Luke and Jessica,
I am glad you two were able to join us. Normally, we get more of a chance to meet/talk to every one when we stop for photo opps. However, with the crowds being the way they were it wasn't really possible this trip. But hopefully we will get another opportunity to get to know you guys.
Joe,
It was definitely nice seeing you again, I just wish the situation would have lent itself to allowing us to spend more time on the valley floor. You drove a heck of a long way to have lunch! I look forward to seeing you again on a run closer to sea level.
Jimbo,
I enjoyed having time to talk to you. Funny meeting up at Yosemite Falls. You are part of the group, car or not, as far as I am concerned. Looking forward to getting a chance to see a coupe!
Since I have to upload my pics to PutFile, give me a little while to post a few of my pics.

Chance, The pleasure was all mine. Believe me, the drive was worth it. :-)
Hopefully next run, like you said, will be closer to sea level, and we have a chance to sit and chat some more. (Maybe the Cherry Jubilee Run?)
I have some pics that I hope to get up by tonight.
Everyone else, I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to sit and chat with you all. Hopefully we'll get to meet up again this summer.
Joe

Even with the delays it was a great time...and the falls were spectacular. And, was this the first run where we DIDN'T get lost?
Oh, and what about that weather....darn, another beautiful day
I am resizing my photos and will post a few later on - in the meantime, thanks to everyone who was able to join us and I will echo Mike/Chance's sentiments.
Safe to all.

We had a very nice time. Unfortunately I severely under estimated the amount of time it would take for us to get up there, but we really appreciate everyone waiting for us newbies. Jessica was dissapointed that we didn't have much time to talk and get to know everyone, but hopefully there will be more oportunities for us to do that.
We took plenty of pictures and I will try to get an album together on my LiveSpace, but until then here are a couple of my favorites. Also I look forward to seeing some of the pictures that were taken from the top of the RV.

Hi Mike,
Now I know who you are! I STILL don't know who I was sitting near at the banquet in Las Vegas. Maybe we need a WCKCC club roster with photos or something.
I had such a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. The weather could not have been better and both the solo and group drives were terrific. The only wart was when we left the valley for Glacier Point. I didn't get the clamshell lid slammed hard enough and the "trunk ajar" chime almost caused me to drive off a cliff. That was why I fell out of the group right after the turn-off to glacier point.
I felt good that I was able to keep uo with the group despite a lack of seat-time and familiarity with the car, especially on twisty roads. I think that speaks volumes about the cars forgiving nature and natural diving ease.
I was also grateful that our group leader kept to a generally slow/modest pace. I don't push too hard and some of these group drives seem to result in a very fast pace being set by the leader. I don't like that. I'm along to cruise and see the sights, not to challenge the road. That is for on the track.
It made all the difference for me to be able to drive along in my own Kappa (thanks to AVIS rent-a-car!) Once I buy my own Sol, I may participate in more group rides. It just isn't the same without being able to drive a Kappa, and riding along in someone elses is a poor substitute for me. I love the wheel in my hands. I can't drive often or long enough, as long as I get my slow pace and frequent breaks to stop and smell the flowers.
People like me who cruise along slow and do a lot of sight-seeing are called "Flower Sniffers". I like to refer to myself as a "Power Sniffer". I drive as slow as the flower sniffers, just later into the night.
Yeah, I had a blast, but I only wet my whistle for the insane, heart-stopping heavenly beauty of Yosemite. I never got back in the next day and it broke my heart. Yosemite is beautiful to drive through, but there is NOTHING like seeing it on foot. You really have to stop and ponder, or walk the park to enjoy it. I could spend weeks there. The time were were just at the Lower Yosemite Falls alone shows how long you can just sit and linger and enjoy the majesty of the place -- even in the waning light. Man, Yosemite Falls was really in full bloom. I haven't seen in with that much water in a long time, or been there in spring in a long time.
Good thing we didn't stay much later or we would have needed flashlights to get back to the cars.
Condolences to Gizmo. He would have loved it. Next time...
I never did get my 2nd day in the park. I had to get the rental car back to Sacramento International Airport and the 4 hour drive into and out of the park made that an impossiblility and still drive home up Highway 49.
