Are there any other Utah owners on the Forum? I've seen a couple driving around but have not noticed many in this area - and have not noticed anyone else posting.

It's an old list, but as you can see, there aren't too many Forum members in Utah. You can also see other nearby states:

A little distant, but WORTH IT. Fer shure.

I live in Tooele UT.
I bought our mysterious sol on 4-12-07 .right now it has 380 miles on it.
I purchased the car from Quality Automotive in Tooele but it was a dealer trade from Logan UT.
I have seen one agressive and a mean in Park City and about once a week I see a sly on I-80 near the airport in Salt Lake.
Last Wed after a recording session at my house, my lead singer begged me to drive him back to his house with the top down and I declined at first because the car has not yet reached the break in miles. So we got out into my daily driver and I realized that we didn't have to take his keyboard with us as we left it at my house and I said What the hell, let's do it. It was a nice drive and we listened to our recording on the way back to Salt Lake. I was a little uncomfortable with the top down and as soon as I dropped him off, I put the top back up. I stayed way back from any other vehicles and kept it under 70 mph. It was a very intense drive and I was just waiting for a rock to hit the car, but luckily nothing ever happened. I got it back home and promptly washed the bugs off the front, dusted it and covered it back up. I'm not sure when the next drive will be. I used to have a 68 SS/RS Camaro that was a show car and I had to sell it because I had the same obsession and it was driving me crazy.

Ummmmm, unframed, why are you so hesitant to drive with the top down? I don't see any connection between that and the break-in period!
I picked mine up on 10/15/05, the top was already down. I didn't even know the Solstice came with a ragtop until about a month later!
It sounds like you are trying to preserve your car instead of enjoy it. That puts you and me on opposite ends of the spectrum. The Solstice is my only car and I've got nearly 40,000 miles on her already. Would have been more except for a cumulative total of 4 months in the shop for modifications and/or body work.
My advice: enjoy every possible moment with that beautiful car!
When it's worn out, buy another one.

Welcome back to the world of ragtops, Tom. What convertibles did you drive before? Mine were mostly Fiats (couple of 850s, 3 or 4 X1/9s), a Mustang, and a Cavalier.
And congratulations on your first post to the Solstice Forum!

Had a couple of Fiat 124's, a 71 and an 80. The 71 was actually my x's car and we sold it when it started burning oil bad and later bought the 80. Fun cars but they weren't built or designed very well.
