BC Buds

OK all you BC Buddies - I've started this thread up to use as a general discussion thread. That way we can keep in touch about what we're doing, where we're going and what we've done to our cars, post pictures, etc. We can hive off separate threads for any cruises we may plan.

Subscribe to this thread for notification when a comment has been made here.

Cheers, Mike

I've made up some cards to put on any Sol/Sky windshields I might see in a parking lot. These ones are for the Island but I've put a Word document on the web for anyone who would like to print their own and it can easily be changed in Word. You need the standard business card sheets (such as Avery 08371) to print on.

The Word doc is: Drop.io dd7bdld

Here I am too! Nice way to keep track of us local folks.

One thing I will mention....even with the skookum tires I bought I have been hydroplaning on Highway #1 in the horrendous rains that we've had. So I put one of my 40lb bags of salt in the trunk, and boy does that ever make a difference. Now I plow through the tunnels of water rather than slide on top of them. I can hear the excess water smacking on my new mud flaps! It's a nice safe driving feel rather than waiting for the car to lift up randomly.

Happy wet Lower Mainland driving!!!

Lorraine - get sand ! If salt gets wet, it'll eat your car

Yes they are. I love them......but if the car is light, it will still ride on top of the tunnels of water that we have on the highway. Hence the 40 lbs in the trunk. I'm a bit of a scared driver in wet conditions due to a previous accident...don't like not having a good grip on the road.

What kind of tires are you on, still the stock ones?

Someone pointed that out to me last winter, but I have the bag in an extra industrial plastic garbage bag. And no leaks in the trunk! I might change over to sand......

Hey guys just checking out the new digs here.

Lorraine's comment reminded me how much I enjoy the traction control/DSC on my GXP. That has saved my bacon a couple of times!

I also saw a dark green/black Solstice going east on the east-west connector over the weekend, I slowed to let him come up beside, even waved out the window to get his attention but he didnt even bother to look over. Can't catch them all I suppose.

Hey folks, how's the wet weather treatin ya? My bloody trunk leaks! Not a happy fat kid here! lol Ah well, we'll find out what they say bout it on Thursday. Another question, when I hit the gas hard at idle it almost sounds as if there's an exhaust leak. A really wierd sound. I'll have them check that out too along with the small stutter in third gear. Guess it all comes out at once. I seen a few peeps runnin round but I'm not sure who's who yet... One day I'll figure out who's who.

There's myself and one other identical Sly (dark grey) in Langley, she's on 50th close to 200th somewhere and I'm on 44th.....she parked right beside me one day but didn't say hello. So I'm the friendlier one!

I also saw a green one about a week ago for the first time on 200th but the couple driving didn't look my way so I couldn't wave.

Make the dealership fix those issues. I have issues that I'd like dealt with, but we're at the "convincing" stage of things...I'd like a 2008 carrier because my clunk is getting louder, and they're saying my nice new tires are what's causing some noise. I also have the whine at higher speeds.......not sure how to get this resolved at this point.

Where are you getting your Solstice serviced in Langley? I'd also like to ask Thunder06 where they're getting theirs serviced, but they're off the road for the winter so maybe not checking this thread for a while.

I popped into the GM dealer on the bypass and they seemed fine with everything. I'll find out I guess when I drop it off Thursday morning. I'll let you know how it goes. There's another black one running around town too. Seen it several times. I'm living out in the Clayton area but work up @ 192nd and 27th so I'm up in that area every day.

Not what I thought it was about....errrrrr not that I know anything about BC Bud and/or what it is used for and/or how to use it and/or tried it and/or inhaled it.

Can us Alberta folks pop in too, even though most of us have put the Sol away.
