Could a Chevy dealer be the best place for your Solstice and the GMPP tune.

I would like to thank e-sarge and BrianH for directing me to what I consider the best GM dealer in the GTA for parts and toys.

Like a typical child, I called Brian Attard at Addison hoping my tune was in on Friday. It was. Brian took the innitialive to run out to the shop to see if it could happen. Be in By 2 and were good........

So, it`s Friday before a sunny weekend, and I can skip out early. Moments later I`m heading accross town, all the way resisting the urge to haul ass.

The car is in at 2, just as promised. I spent some time with Brian, the parts manager, browsing through parts and prices. If you have ever priced out rear shocks for an 01 Tahoe, be prepared. Brian spent a great deal of time searching for other options as the list pricing was 750 each. Argh. He did find a more pallatable deal. It`s more than likely his shop will be dealing with my Tahoe now.

So, the car is finished in what appears to be no time. I have all the answers and options patiently provided by Brian. My car is ready, I`m outa here.

The first pull right out of the dealer yields 125kpa through first. My max on the way was 105. I hit second gear for some more, but of course there is a cop right there. So, I figure I can wait till I hit the 401. Nope, it`s rush hour. Luckily, I was already planning to hit Cayuga the next day if only to watch.

On the way up, I was significantly impressed with the cars mid rpm torque. Passing in top ger is now acceptable. The engine simply feels bigger. I feel the car has the appropriate balance of power now. The ability to easily control steering with power has made my car a true sports car.

It didn`t take long to decide I wanted to test out the new found power. I won`t admit it to my wife that I had quietly decided to hit the track along the way. I needed a ligitimate place to use all the new power. And Now!!!!

My first pull bested my best by .25. I immediatly notice that the car is very different to launch. The significant mid level torque wrecks havock at the line. Surely a little practice would help. 14 flat at 104 was my best.

I am a bit of a shop whore when it comes to my GM cars. I have sampled many of the dealers in the GTA. I am generally left disapointed, discusted or even worse, left with a damaged car.

Addison came through on every promiss with no issue with special thanks to Brian Attard. The best guy in the city to buy parts from!

I think I might change my username to Happy Camper now.

Wait a tick...

Didn't I order mine first? How come you're done and I'm still waiting? Is my envy apparent?

Congrats, and I hope to join the club soon.

Your envy might explode if we were to run it out.

I know you will not regret it.

I am considering a drive out to 403 and Dundas tonight. It's more of an excuse to get the car out in thinner traffic.

To all SSOOO members, Brian Attard at Addison Chev is planning a "Show and Shine" - tentatively scheduled for Saturday June 27th. He intends to invited the GTA chapter of SSOOO. I am going to propose to him that if we have other GXP / Red Line owners who want GM Tune Kit that we place order early and we install while you are at the "Show and Shine". Will work thru Jack L to coordinate posting of Show and Shine "official" invite. Brian H

Hey e-Sarge, my kit was there before everyone's and Craig even beat me to the install. I was worried that they sold my kit but it's still there waiting for me this Thurs. Brian

I have never entered a S&S. I'll give it a shot.

My drive was very fun last night. The car is more controlable with the extra oompfff.

They better space your departures. It's hard not to test it out at the first opportunity.

Brian's was done first, immediately followed by mine. However, since Brian was tied up in meetings, I actually left first. I was in and out in under 2 hours (including the paperwork and a short wait while they finished Brian's programming).

Lots of traffic on the way home, but the butt dyno says it's faster

Can't wait to show off my "Premium Fuel Only" sticker at Mecca next week. Hopefully no tickets to go with it...
