What I think you should do, is put air ride suspension on the Sol. Then through the winter and the spring you can jack it up for the snow and the pot holes. In the summer you put it down for crusing on the highway, then when you get back into the city, you can lift it up again to navigate the streets to get home. Edmonton has to have some of the worst roads anywhere!
Whatever you do you will enjoy your Sol!

I think air ride is a little out of my price range for the time, i was gonna do coil overs but i just cant spend that much on at this point.

and yes edmonton does have crap for roads. i only like a few km from work and i dont spend a whole lot of time just out driving around inless i have somewhere to go i may just take the long way

I'd like to vote on one or the other, but I'm not familiar with either set up lol. Knowing the roads in Edmonton though, I'd vote for the softest riding setup!!!! Not just to ease up the effects of the roads on your teeth and kidneys, but it might save your wheels a little too. A little more give might save a costly rim repair when you zig instead of zagging around that gaping crater.

I am curious though how your car is in the winters here, and what about the snow factor if you lowered it? Wouldn't the nose just become a snow plow after a good storm, or when it warms up like it has lately and everything is slushy?

Right now the car in winter is perfect, i took the little black air damn off the front of the car and have not scraped on a thing as of yet but we have not had any big snow storms. lowered it would be scraping on the rutts in the roads where i live at this point but fine most places.

i dont think the lower springs would affect keeping them in better shape as if i am 4" off the ground or 4.5" off the ground and hit a big pot hole it will do the same dmg to the rim.

The air dam picks up air from below and delivers it to the rad. It is critical to cooling in the summer.

Be very careful.

I am planning on putting it back on for summer, i may cut some off of it so it is not scraping on all the speed bumps
