Welcome Leather - glad you can make it. I'll bold you in. Have you booked accommodations yet?
Yes Friday & Sat at the Sandman. When I asked about the underground parking she said it was limited due to some full time tenants.
WoWwii I would love a couple of those signs, thanks.
I also have never been in a car show before so any suggestions what to bring would be great.

Has anyone contacted Sun Valley Cruise-In, if not, I have fired off an email. I'm not looking for any deals, it's only 20 bucks,... but maybe reserve a few stalls in a row

I know the lay of the land around the shows here, and I think we'll be able to group ourselves together if were early enough or know for sure whos coming.
I'll go see the Sandman tomorrow to have them assign underground spots for us all if possible.
I doubt there will be any deals, as the show is basically break even already. Remember that you get fed BBQ on Sat night with your entry and there are a numbber of prizes handed out. Aparently the Mopar club will be attending with over 100 cars this year. Last year they had a show of their own on a different weekend.
Skybright, SaltSpringSky and myself were planning to drive up together on the Friday as well. We would like to get to Vernon in time for the evening car show event. I hope we can all park together when there, and still get to the hotel to check-in.
I would also like to stop to see & photograph the Othello tunnels near Hope. Maybe we could all meet there? It is very close to the fork in the road where you can take either the Coquihalla or hwy 3.
We havent picked the exact route to take yet so let us know which route you prefer. If anyone else wants to join us driving to Vernon please let us know!
Why not meet in Langley that way we can drive up to Hope together. The tunnels are about 20 minutes in from the freeway.
If we want to get there to go by the hotel and unpack before the show at 5 we might want to take the Coquihalla. I think if we get there early enough we will get a spot for all our cars together. Thoughts...

This is shaping up very nicely folks. WowWii and Miner - I'm counting you both in. Miner - no need to worry about whether you're worthy of showing, it's pretty casual. last year there was an antique british Vauxhaul there with tons of dents, old original paint and rotted upolstry, but it still showed with pride, and garnered many good comments. I think our numbers alone will carry us - and all we really need to do is wash our beasts to be interesting. So don't be shy. I think it'll be cool having the many colors, Skybrights Lambo doors, A Turbo kit 2.4 and perhaps even a Supercharged 2.4 there amongst our otherwise "plain jane" Solstices.
I'll be trying to recruit local cars too - to add to our numbers.
I also have a Hahn III that I can't wait for my Kappa friends to see! First time we are getting together since we had it installed.

I think it's a great idea to meet up in Langley, when I make up my mind whether we're able to come I will also be starting in Langley. I have booked the Friday off work in any event.
I strongly recommend driving through Princeton and turning north on the #5A....it's such a spectacular route, and the Coquihalla, while quick, is boring. If we left early on Friday we'd be able to stop at the tunnels, and carry on. As some of you know I just did this route several weeks ago on my trip to Vernon....and enjoyed some very interesting twisties on one lane highway with lots of passing room....and glorious scenery.
That's my 2 cents!

Sounds good to me but we will have to head out early. Which is fine with us! Gives us more time to play and have fun on those curves.

Hi,
Very interested in a run.. the sea to sky is a good option.. just let me know.. plans for summer are not final.. but please count me in!
Cheers,
Kym
I will be there Fri afternoon till Sun, its only about a 3 hour drive from Clearwater but I'll be coming from Hinton to Clearwater on Thur,4 hr drive. But I love driving the sol so milage just don't mater! I'll be by myself, as my poor wife is busy working. I'll try to get into the Sandman.
hmmm, stage 3 hahn, i'm weakening, but, i don't want to commit to quit yet to going, because my son & myself do this autoxing thing, which happens to be on the 9th, & he might hurt me, if i dump him in favour of taking the other half to vernon. i'll be working on him, to let me take MY car, & go play. anyways i was waiting for you guys to come up with the dates before i commit, & i still can't.
by the way as far as i'm concerned, the only way to drive to the okanagan, is the hope-princeton hwy, it takes a little longer, but well worth it, also WATCH FOR WILDLIFE on road
hopefully we can make.
doug & karen
I am afraid that you may have to wait a bit longer to see my rear fin, King Oka.
I just checked my front row tickets to see Circe de Soliel "Corteo" in the big tent in Calgary and they are for the night of August 9th. I had forgotten about them until I saw them dusting this morning. And it is a good thing that I did see them too as I paid a fortune for them!
Poop - guess I will give the Sandman a call and cancel my reservations.
Oh well - sorry about that folks. Unbold my name!
