And unfortunately August 23rd is out for me too as that's the day for the Calgary Cool Cars for Cancer event which I will be attending this year if the weather cooperates.

we're up for it. Three Valley Gap, Revelstoke, Kelowna...which ever.
Although Sept would be easier on most, as vacationers and "kids" would be back in school.

But the weather could be crappy in September. Who knows. It could be crappy in August. This is Calgary after all!

Jeez brendand! You're so demanding!

So that leaves us with Aug 2nd weekend or Aug 30th weekend

If we choose Aug 30th, I would suggest we try kelowna, odds are it would be warmer there in late August. King-Oka posted a few good options for kelowna resorts.

Aug 2nd is also do-able.

We are going to have to just pick a date soon and select a hotel. So should we vote?

P.S. We will not be booking your hotel room, we would only choose a hotel and you guys get to pay for your own rooms!

Any questions?

Hmm....August 2nd is a long weekend holiday in Canada and the meet is in Canada.

A long weekend would be enough time for me to make it as far as Kelowna although I think I would prefer Revelstoke.

Ah yes. Forgot about that. We don't get nearly enough holidays down here...

Double oops!

Darn long weekends!

That being said, the Aug 2nd date still might work out okay if people are willing to go on the civic long weekend, I think the monday after is off, so that gives people plenty of time to get home.

The Labour day weekend we should probably avoid, everybody makes plans for that one and it can be crazy busy driving, hotels and campgrounds are usually full.

As I said earlier Aug 29 is out for me, which also meant the 30th. Squirrel - that might open the 22nd weekend. The 2nd is also good for me.

sorry oka, I missed a few things . . . . repeatedly.

I think people are generally okay with Aug 2nd right?

So where do you all want to meet. Choose wisely since you will be the one booking your own hotel, spending your own money on gas to get there etc.

I don't mind kelowna or revelstoke or wherever, but each place might fill up if we don't decide soon.

Just to get the ball started, Three Valley Gap in Revelstoke is $120-$160 (CAD) / night. I've driven by there quite a few times and even stopped in once to see the Ghost Town. The area is really nice with the lake right there. There are some cheaper places to stay just inside Revelstoke.

Has anyone thought about how many bugs we'll have all over our cars? Might not make for a very nice photo opportunity. Unless there's somewhere there we can all wash our cars.
