I've sent PMs to a few other Calgary residents. One said he couldn't plan that far in advance, but said he'd keep monitoring the thread. I haven't heard back from the others.

I never heard back from the Stampede Pontiac guy either who said he'd send out some emails for me. Perhaps his boss didn't let him. Bummer.

the drive up

Hi, we will be driving up from Langley on the Friday, probably early morning. If anyone wants to drive up together let us know. We could meet up somewhere on the Freeway.

Bold My Name!

Okay...

I am booking my room as I type this. I still don't know if I can make it or not but I figure that it will at least give me a bit of time to determine my work schedule (new job).

I have also booked Friday and Saturday night but I know that I will be arriving very late on Friday - according to the BC distance calculator, it is a 6.5 hour drive so if I leave at 4:30 PM......

So I am in so far. I don't know about a car show - it might be fun to go to it but I don't think I will be entering anything. Does anyone know if you can just show up to the BBQ and pay or do you need to purchase tickets before hand?

It will be fun, I am sure!

Skybright, SaltSpringSky and myself were planning to drive up together on the Friday as well. We would like to get to Vernon in time for the evening car show event. I hope we can all park together when there, and still get to the hotel to check-in.

I would also like to stop to see & photograph the Othello tunnels near Hope. Maybe we could all meet there? It is very close to the fork in the road where you can take either the Coquihalla or hwy 3.

We havent picked the exact route to take yet so let us know which route you prefer. If anyone else wants to join us driving to Vernon please let us know!

This is shaping up very nicely folks. WowWii and Miner - I'm counting you both in. Miner - no need to worry about whether you're worthy of showing, it's pretty casual. last year there was an antique british Vauxhaul there with tons of dents, old original paint and rotted upolstry, but it still showed with pride, and garnered many good comments. I think our numbers alone will carry us - and all we really need to do is wash our beasts to be interesting. So don't be shy. I think it'll be cool having the many colors, Skybrights Lambo doors, A Turbo kit 2.4 and perhaps even a Supercharged 2.4 there amongst our otherwise "plain jane" Solstices.

I'll be trying to recruit local cars too - to add to our numbers.

So ya... what about washing our cars? I usually take a good 5 or so hours to wash and detail my car. So will there be somewhere we can get the bugs off and shine it up? I hope I'll have enough room for my clothes, my son's clothes, and the barrage of cleaning supplies I'll need to make my Deep sparkle for the show.

I bet the local coin washes will be packed.

Hello from Red Deer. I have marked my calendar and looks like I should be able to make it. I am not sure who I am bringing yet but plan on being there Friday and coming home Sunday.

Awesome! We should set a time that we can meetup for the drive out. Maybe at COP like last year and then on our way!

If anyone would like a place card for their car for Saturday's car show, I can provide those FOC. To keep the cards uniform, they would be 12"x8". (place cards would have model, year, mods etc etc) and if required I could make up a few "Please do not touch" also.

Cool. I've never been in a car show before so I'm not sure what we are required to have. But I like the idea of having the cards... and the "do not touch" signs especially.
