Here is my official invitation to join your fellow Canadians in a run to Tame the Dragon! We will be joining fellow Solstice/Sky owners in Tennessee to run the Tail of the Dragon which is scheduled for August 6 to 8, 2009.
A group of us will be leaving from Toronto early on Saturday August 1st, 2009 and we plan to return to the Toronto area Sunday August 9th, 2009. If you want to join us on the run down or meet us anywhere along the way, please let us know so we can give you contact information and our schedule as it develops.
Laura and I have already made our hotel reservations and I know of at least one other couple that has done the same. I have been in contact with the Fontana Village (800)849-2258 and although they have a number of Solstice/Sky Kappa Club members reserved, there is still room if you want to join in on the run. Please see the link below for details. 2009 Solstice/Sky at the Dragon - Now Accepting Registrations
Remember that you and Brit have an open invitiation
to caravan down with us NEO's
we'd meet you at Beckley or some other pre-assigned spot
I think you are leaving later than us. We want to make a trip of it. We are going to stop off and see Elvis first. But thanks. I'd love to have traveled down with the rest of you. And I will also propose it to the group.
I'm trying to stur things up! Yah it is very quite on the Canadian side. Perhaps everyone is sleeping. I have my car away for the winter. With spring on the way things will start to wake up in a month or so I should think. Until then I'll just keep trying until I wake them up. LOL
It's tough to thinking about driving with the top down when last week my FJ Cruiser (the other car in my life) is telling me it's -30C...or other words @#$*ing cold!!!
I'm certainly thinking about this trip in 2009...as are a few others from the NCRRO in Ottawa.
Cheers to you all....and happy skiing (or whatever else you might find to do over the winter)

It would be a fun ride and one of these days I will do it but this year, with my son getting married, it's just day trips for me.
You are right when you say that a lot of cars are in storage. Many of the owners go into hibernation when that happens.

I hope there will be more responses once the weather starts to warm up and the cars start to come out. Until then sleep tight and keep warm my fellow Solstice/Sky owners.
nothing much to say, except that i am from Montreal, QC and i am a regular lurker on this site.
Just waiting and waiting and waiting...
for spring so i can drive my supercharged solstice again.
can't wait...
We may have a couple of cars coming from Ottawa. If you are interested in the trip let us know and perhaps one of them can contact you. The Ottawa area has a really stong Solstice/Sky group.
Here's already some "chatter" about the possiblity of this trip...Lynn & I are seriously looking into it...as are others.
Rick....maybe we can find a meeting point south of the border where the two groups could meet after the first day's drive...just a thought...I will call to discuss once some of the snow has melted.
Cheers....see ya soon on the road....

That would be a good possibility. We are also considering bringing down a support vehicle to carry the extras. Laura and I have a Ford Escape. We will have to arrange some kinda get together to talk more about the trip. A couple of us have already made hotel reservations.

Hmmm!! A support vehicle means more room for the ladies to pack shopping in for the trip back home

Is that a selling point? I guess we guys can also jam a few things in. The support vehicle was supposed to be a Hummer H3 but looks like I'm getting a new Ford Escape instead.
