Here's some easy links to other threads on the subject:
If you're considering buying paint and rust protection from the dealer it's probably not a good value. I know Ontario weather is hard on cars but are you going to drive your Solstice in the winter? If all the dealer does is spray some undercoating on the bottom end you could go to Wally mart and buy 4 spray cans of undercoating for 20 bucks and do it yourself. I'm not a fan of undercoating since after a few years the semi hard undercoating layer can lift off the metal and form a pocket where corrosion can flourish. I live in Manitoba and slow down the rust on my winter drivers by spraying the underside with a grease and auto trans fluid mixture. The atf creeps into crevices and the grease gives it some body. I also pump oil into the lower door drains since GM's are infamous for lower door rust. As for paint protection I use NuFinish wax at around 8 bucks a bottle spring and fall. You should brush on some anti seize compound on the back of your alloy wheels where they sit against the rotors. This will guard against dissimilar metal corrosion.

I remember in high school we got in a shipment of 1903 Springfield rifles. I spent days cleaning the cosmoline off my rifle. I wonder if that could be applied to the underside of a car without problems?
For you Can EH dians in Toronto, I'm not talking about the Cosmoline Brothers entertainers.
I'm going for the paint sealant and rust inhibitor. Really doesn't cost that much. I am undecide with the mud guards.

I think dylan got the paint sealant. I didn't because I figured that the Solstice is such a small car that it would be that difficult to wash and wax on a regular basis.

If you get the dealer to put on a paint sealer, can you still apply Nufinish afterwards? (next season)

The website for Nu Finish says it does not remove wax or polish. Ask your dealer to be sure. Anyone else have any knowledge in this? (I don't. I just wanted to get another post in! )
