Test and tune/open lapping at TMP tonight.06/24.

I'm heading to Cayuga tonight. I plan on making a few runs to see how my car is performing. For the most part, I end up yacking about cars in the lot and watching the action. The few Wed. nights that I have been, allowed for back to back runs if you were so inclined.

They are open for Test and Tune 7'till 11 and open lapping 6'till 9.
TPM site.

Pricing and times. for Test and tune

Pricing and times for lapping.

$20...Test and Tune
80...lapping.
10...spectator.

Google maps of TMP.

The last Sunoco's on the way.

I just figured I`d throw an invitation out there. I know, the very first time I went, I was somewhat intimidated. If you are interested in making it out, I`d say a weeknight is a good time to pick.

So, my times were frustrating. I was faster without the tune. Very humid and fairly warm. Argh!!

There was an amazing variety of cars.
10sec Manual RX7.
Easily 600hp civic.
Bentley coupe.
The big merc...twin turbo 12.
Varous AMG's
M3
M5
GTR
A typical assortment of old muscle. Mostly impressive.
New and old Mustangs. Some pretty fast.
A new Challenger SRT8(I stayed with him?)
Some wicked stretched bike.

I spent a fair amount of time on the road course. I always feel honoured sharing the track with a GT3. Not too many cars out there. It was perfect for a lazy lap or 20. With a few vigorous ones here and there. I finally out how to get my car to turn in well. There is not question, the stock suspension is meant for daily driving. Brakes did well with no fade.

I am now automotively fulfilled

I came across this place during a leisurely drive with the wife. Now I want to drive a shifter kart.

The satelite view from google maps tells the story.

Myself and a few friends have all agreed we want to do it. If there is anyone interested, let me know.

I will. I am checking on the various places.

So far. 365 total, for 4 hours with all equipment supplied. Minimum 5 people to 8 max. I'll be taking some time to find more options. We could likely do f1000 cars for close to that much.

So far, I have 4 seriously interested.

Ha. Did you remember to turn the air conditioning off?

It's kind of funny you mention the air conditioning. I do put it on during cool down so that the air conditioner fan runs full time. The problem is that when it's really humid, and your running your air through the defroster.....you get a lot of condesation on the window. Enough to be completely opaque. Oops.

I think the air automatically turns off at WOT. All I need is the driver mod.

The drive back in front of the stands was a little tough after the particularily bad launches. They should have an alternate route under the stands for the shamed. That being said, the experienced racers recodnize the cars potential. Even with me as the driver, but with a lot more practice.

Anyway, you can't be talkin'. I have not seen you out.

I realized what I valued most by my few track experiences. Since I have put the car through it's paces, I can now consider it's handling predictable. I'm glad I chose to learn the car in a contolled environment.

What is everyone using for pads anyway?
