Western Canada members?

Hello all!

New Solstice owner here! One month and counting. Bought a "brand new" 2008 Solstice (Brazen Inferno Orange) last month, and loving every minute of it!!! Not sure how many people there are on here from Western Canada, so I thought I would put a shout out for people to see how many there are of us. I am located in Regina, Sask, but would love to meet up with people throughout Western Canada this spring/summer to share the love of these toys. This is my first "true" sports car (I've had Camaro's in the past, but nothing like the Solstice), and I can't get over how much power is thrown into those rear wheels from such a relatively small engine. I have the base model, with the 2.4L, so I can just imagine what you GXP owners have to deal with!!!! Can't wait to see how she handles the summer roads.

I am relatively new to forums in general, so how does this thing all work? Any meets going on in the next few months? Any other tips and hints you can pass onto a newbie?

Thanks a bunch!!

Hi neighbour

I am just into using my Solstice as daily driver right now.

I might be able to find some time to meet up.

Thanks for the greetings!

Summer....I'm sure I've seen your car around recently, at least I remember that plate. Do you get into Regina often? Know of any others in the area? BTW, sweet mods to that ride.

I work down town, park in a parking lot on 11th across from SGI, drive north Albert St every day. In the city on Sundays to instruct obedience and agility classes at the RKOC.

I see the odd Solstice and Sky but don't know any owners. There have been a few other Regina owners on the forum in the past. It appears their accounts are gone.

I'm sure I've seen your sol parked there once or twice. Can't remember if I'd seen it anywhere else. Either way, what fun it is to have a GXP for a commuter car, hey?

Have a question for you guys.

We are in the early stages of planning a cruise down HWY 101 from its northern termius to northern California redwoods for next summer (2010). Several of us are considering starting the trip with a couple of days on Vancouver island. We are looking for tips on places to stay, things to see etc. Was wondering if you guys have any information that you could share with us.

Thanks

I'm doing that trip as well this summer and have driven the 101 a few times. Send me a private message and we can trade email info, there's alot of stuff i could mention, but don't want to get off topic for the thread.

Vancouver Island leg of your trip

Hi there. I'm in Parksville on the Island. I'm sure there are beautiful places on the southern part of the island (Victoria area) that are fun to drive but as far as up my way, the trip from Parksville to the west coast is quite nice. Driving the winding road around Cameron Lake and through Cathedral Grove is nice. If you just go as far as Port Alberni, it's only about 40 mins. I know the whole idea is to 'ride' but a walk through Cathedral Grove is worth it. Lots of resorts to pick from all over this area also. If you've googled any and have questions about them, I'd be happy to try to answer them.
