Does anyone know the stock diamiter size of our pipe? I want to add a Dynomax straight through muffler from their solstice kit to my car. Their inlet/exhaust is 2.5.
Thanks.
Jeff
Thanks Dave. I am still kind of torn between the dynomax and Borla. I have yet to find out what type of construction the borla is. The dyno is just a big glasspack. The price may make my mind up for me.
I googled "muffler shootout" and found a test page with bunches of mufflers tested on the same set up and the Borla made more horse and was quieter.

If it's straight thru, it's going to be LOUD!! I installed a Magnapac to my GMPP exhaust and sometimes it can be annoying, other times (overrun) it is great.
Hi Kappster. The 2.4 is an unbelievably hard car to do an exhaust on and not get a drone at certain RPM ranges. We have tested and created many no drone kits for the 2.4 ( it's not easy ) please feel free to call or PM if you have any questions etc. Thanks. Jeff 905-703-1557.
No offense to any one but I have settled on this set up. I liked the Borla set up which is the same as the GMPP upgrade. But it did not come with the braided joint that is to isolate engine vibration from the Exhaust system. Its said that it's not needed but the factory thinks it is.
Solo kits are nice too. But I like the Billy boat sound better. It is a very deep sound and is free flow and is a axle back set up, which means just cut off and clamp on and keep the factory flex joint. Very easy. A very high quality build too. lifetime warranty.
Yummy!
Talking to Billy Boat, Apparently he has been selling more of these lately which I was kind of surprised because I haven't read about these on this site since CHefMartin installed his on his car couple of years back. He doesn't advertise here either. I called to see if he still made them.
Great sound, what do you think?

I'm confused, you wanted a quieter exhaust?
If you want the sound those 2 vids made, check out Solo. Headers, Cat, Cat back and you'll get the same HP response (not alot, but some). And Solo has been doing these setups for a few yrs. Just my 2 cents worth.
Dang, I sound like a Solo saleman...... you have my address Jeff, I accept CdnTire money too.

Your right I do want it quiet if it has any resemblance to a ricer 4 cylinder sound. If the car had a flat six or a V-8 I would want to hear it. This deep tone and with no drone seems to sound Ideal to me, being able to hear its heart with out the typical ricer tones.
Well here is what I can tell you about the sound.
First I had the GMPP CAI and it was LOUD, I liked it, had a great burble sound when slowing down. Since then, I've gone turbo, the sound from the CAI (no longer GMPP) is alot less now, but still a noticeable burble sound again when slowing down. At idle (750rpm) nice sound, not ricey but not v8 drone.(I doubt any exhaust company can achieve that sound) At 100kph/65mph, noticeable but not loud. Best bet, fine a few Sol/Sky's that have exhaust mods and take a listen. Hope this helps.
