Maybe "strut bar" isnt the best way to describe this device. Typically a strut bar is used on a unibody car to tie the two strut towers together and sometimes to the cowl area. For anyone who doesnt know, in a unibody type car the suspension components bolt directly to the cars body and the body itself is a structural member acting like a frame. The Kappa is a body on frame type construction where the body is essentially non-stressed and the frame is the mounting point for all the suspension components and the powertrain. Opinions vary on the superiority of each but typicially unibody saves weight but has some trade-off reguarding rigidty. That being said, Porsche seems be able to make the unibody set-up work real well.

As far as whether or not this particular product is worthwhile, it does seem to bolt to the frame rails at least somewhat near the suspension pick-up points so I suppose it couldnt hurt. Whether or not itll be a noticiable difference, seeing as the frame seems to be pretty stiff already I personally doubt it'll do too much.

He wasn't taking about suspension modifications, he was talking about types of suspensions. Also, WE ALL can always learn from someone. NEVER in any of our lives will we know "everything". You could learn something from this guy if you listen. The guy might be a suspension engineer for all you know.

I am not new to this stuff. I have modded tons of cars, but just like this topic I am not gonna argue it with you, because everyone has various opinions on it. Thanks for your opinion.

You seem to be borderline to taking this personally. I'm not attacking you, I'm attacking the ideas you are putting forward.

I never claimed I knew what no one else knew. I did some resarch, just like what anyone else can do. It's amazing what happens when you open a book or talk to race car developers/builders.

I'm definitely not an engineer. I have had some exposure to various builders through the years, and am friends with some engineers.

From what I've seen, I think the guy that knows the most on this forum when it comes to chassis tuning is SolsticeMan. There are others that seem very well versed too, though, and much more so than myself. I think this forum has a good base of know-how, and if little pieces are put together by the reader here and there a pretty good picture of what's going on with these cars, or any cars, can be put together.

Sounds good!! Hopefully it will help out. Either which way it's one of the cheapest mods you can do and it won't hurt. BTW: IMO You aren't ricing out your car. When you start throwing vinyls on your car we'll talk.

WOW! You are out of this world.....open a book or talk to developers? I know you are undercover attempting to talk crap....but as my statement above.....I have build many cars.....and in the end a book or a developer isnt gonna be near the same a actual hands on.

I just looked back as pictures of a local show we had last year here in Dallas and we talked to the Red Bull Soltice Drift team and took alot of pictures and seen in the pictures they have a Strut Bar / Frame Brace......Hmmm

By the way....dont flatter urself...this is the internet I take nothing personal. I love the internet! It is so much better than a book!

I'm just hoping nothing is in the way of it, since we both did aftermarket turbos.

Are you doing the vegas run uncivil? I heard theres about 40 cars going now.
I'm doing Hin this year for sure. Dub is this weekend, and my car is on blocks.
Going to go look though.

Check my post history. If I want to tell you that you're an idiot, I'm going to do it. If I think your mods are stupid, I'll do that also. I'm not trying to talk crap about you or your car. When I am, I'll make it clear. Personally, I don't have an issue with you one way or the other.

I'm debating the merits of the strut bar in relation to the Sol, nothing more.

But didn't need the if i want to tell you you're an idiot or the if i think your mods are stupid part. Any person can speak their mind but what's the point of telling someone that??
