Dual Exhaust Solstice \ Parts from GXP

First, I thought about putting this under the performance section, and Mods please feel free to move, but I really thought it fit better under the general section.

I would love to make my solstice dual exhaust, while yes I would love to make it breathe better once I get me GM CAI installed (20 degrees and no garage here in MI) I just have to say it equally about looks. I hate the looks of a sports car with a single exhaust. Anyone think that either GM will offer a kit for the rear facia off the GXP with the dual cut outs or that an aftermarket company will offer something factory looking (I don't want to some crazy ground effects kit) that will accomodate dual exhaust?

P.S. I should say exiting one on driver's side one on pasengers side not one outlet with dual pipes!

I believe at least one aftermarket company already has a revised rear lower fascia to accomodate a dual exhaust setup, and I bet more will follow.

Please let there be more to follow... Rear grill must match front grill. Anyone? Hello? *crickets chriping*

One garaunteed sale to any vendor that makes a dual rear fascia that is either honecomb or that will market a matching set of front grill inserts to match whatever grill they put on the rear.

I believe he had his rear facia cut for the second pipe.

I'm going to have a dual exhaust sitting in my garage with no way to put it on because I can't bring myself to buy an unmatching fascia. What a tease!

But I'm glad I'm not the only one out there thinking so!

If the 2007 Solstice has no body design changes and the GXP model has dual exhausts (I assume that it will) then the rear piece will be the same except cut for dual pipes. You then can order the part and switch it with the stock 2006 single one. Makes sense???????, Lp

I'm just wondering how long it will be until you can buy one. I understand you can't even get Sol parts now. If no one develops a good one before now and then, that is what I'll be doing!

The wait is killing me as well.... I went to ebay for GM Performance parts because the dealers were having troublem getting the CAI. I know I could go to Kappshpere but it is a lease (I will buy at lease end) but all GM parts means (I hope) less service headaches should service problems arrise.

If the GXP has a smaller displacement engine, and redlines at lower rpm, why would it need a dual exhaust more than the stock Sol?

For looks or sound or to make it different than the standard Sol or because they can?

Just for looks. The base Sol and GXP are NOT TRUE DUAL EXHAUST vehicles.
They only have one exit from the manifold. It is not set like some V6 or V8 which they have two.Turbo or no Turbo still doesn't need a second one but one good high flow cat and exhaust.

Figures, Oh well. If a camaro can do it with one exhaust, so can we. The dual exit is nice though.
