Nice piece. I would love to have my own machine shop and be able to do this kind of stuff.
A little off topic, but this huge chunk of aluminum reminds me of the 80's when HOT VW's and VW TRENDS had articles about massive billits like this that were cut down into VW parts for show cars.
I like the work, to bad it can not be seen all the time.

I will own a V6 Kappa even if GM does not offer one as an engine upgrade. I have made my mind up, I want the Cadillac CTS 3.6L V6 with a 6 Speed manual tranny. And I will do the conversion my self if I have too :)
Or I will do an LS 3 with a rear mounted 6 speed trans,...the options...?
Alrighty guys, got the car put back together and it needed a new alignment bad, got that done, let me tell you... this thing is a whole new animal. smooth and straight on acceleration , the new diff locks the power up and I can now spin the tires doing 60 on the road. No body twist at all, the car is solid through the corners. The tires will spin from a dig all the way to third gear if you want them to.
I will post some pictures in a bit with all the giblits bolted to it

Very nice work, can't wait for some pics

Bump for pics. Hey also wondered with your metal fabrication, can you do the shifter ring like the Audi TT style. Aftershock had one in their "development" stage a few years back but never came out for us.

Congrats, also might be a good idea to give an idea regarding how much would something like this cost if offered. Could even work through a vendor if you didn't want to deal direct.

While the DDM Pro Beam, backbone and LV bar are more than adequate for my use, I do not believe they take the place of the stouter support bracket. The entire reason for the Pro Beam is that the factory support is not strong enough and flexes. The Pro Beam is basically a band aid, and yes it works but is not the optimum solution just an affordable one. I love this mount but it's out of my price range, can't wait to see the next goodies. Maybe someday you can whip up an adapter so we can put the Wilwood calipers on our cars, it has been done before but its very pricey.

The break thing is in development and will appear as a thread the next couple months.

Weighs to much and cost to much. Sorry. It sure looks nice and I'm sure it performs like it should but at that price, i could buy several other lighter weight pieces and get the same results for a few hundred dollars.
Sorry my friend. No amount of add on stuff can replace the structural support of this piece.
Yes it took some time and cost some buck's and it's not going to offered for sale.

The bracket would be somewhat inexpensive. its the cost of the calipers that's not cheap.

I can get the brakes at a good price, if I can get them to bolt on. ASD racing the winningest team in Formula Drift is sponsored by Wilwood and the owner is a friend of mine and happens to own a Solstice. They have made the adapters but are too busy building race cars to do them for sale. The ones they used on the Drift Sky work on a different hub, they modify the stock hubs to use a more common bolt pattern. They use 6 piston calipers up front with 2 piece rotors and dual calipers in back, one for the e brake and one for the rear brake. E-brakes are kind of important in drifting.

I assume that you want to do this as a show, not go driven mod? The stock brakes are pefectly adequate for just about any use you could put them to, given a sensible choice of pad material.
To the OP - nice bit of fun machining. It would be interesting to test what you have done on a track against the cheaper alternatives that aren't as pretty but may be as effective.
