Also a question about the engraving. Would it be an exchange You send us one we return ours to you, or would you take ours back, and return that to us.
Probably just send you a new engraved one as long as you haven't scratched up the one you have

Ok, Kurt came by today and we installed the first one. A new leather boot was made for him with silver stitch matching his seats. The fit was great and everything came together nicely. Here is the finished product...

My machinist is on standby and we're putting in the first order on monday. Now is the time to be critical on the design. Whether you're my friend or not, be honest about what you think of the design, the interaction with the boot and the knob style. I need as much feedback on the look asap to make final mockup decisions. Please disregard color choice or any feature that might be personal preference. I'm not looking for pats on the back so if you have something positive or negative to say (preferable constructive at the same time), now is the time to say it. Thanks.

Do all the knobs have that collar on the bottom? I guess you need a place to tuck in the leather. I would like a knob that just ended abruptly without the added collar. Or dress up the collar with a bit of chrome/polished aluminum etc. On Island Hoppers Sky it looked like the shifter showed a bit before the knob. I think I prefer that sytle. Would it be possible to machine the shifter with the center bulge a bit lower so that the shifter showed a bit before the knob. Or would the leather end not look as neat as it should with that design?

Well, that's what we're deciding right now. The question is do we eliminate the collar and drop the boot lower or leave it the way it is. The concensus is that the crowd is split on this decision about 50/50. Some say they want to see the shaft and other say that they hate seeing the shaft. I think I'm going to have to come up with a solution that can be flexible.

i think im one of the guys who like the boot lower, but would there be a way to make 1 shaft operate under both conditions? perhaps an adjustabe collar?

My personal preference is to see the shaft at the top of the shifter. I think the boot should be stitched at the top (like the Sky's).

My choice would be White 2" ball, black leather boot with silver stitching to match the GXP seats.

After experimenting a bit more today, we came up with the final design. It will allow the user to make it fit the way they desire. The best of both worlds.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It helped out tremendously.

Sounds Great I can't wait to get my hands on the new shifter (literally). Question about the anodized aluminium shifter knob and engraving. Will you be able to add color to the engraved part or will it show up as bright silver? If you engrave the part first then anodize it the entire surface will be blacke (or whatever color you choose) correct?

I guess it may be easier to tell you what I would like and then hae you tell me if that is even feasible.

Black anodized aluminium shift knob (not sure about polished or not yet) Engraved with Red shift pattern. The numbers and lines would be the red color. Is this possible?

Yes of course. the number pattern would have to be painted though which is no big deal.

I want the same as Morfious, except the shift pattern to be in yellow as I am changing all the red stitching to yellow eventually. I definitely want a shorter shifter with a little of the shifter showing. I am going to paint all the chrome on the dash flat black. Unless someone comes out with a nice cover. Joe any chance you could do a shift knob like the GTO?

I like having the shifter exposed. Would like it powercoated gloss black.

Ok, list is cut off at this first seven. I'll be contacting each one of you tonight via PM for the following details. If you happen to read this first, you can pm me ahead of time.

Please specify the following:

Shifter Height: Normal or short throw
Shift Knob Style (as posted previously)
Boot leather color
Boot stitch color

I also need the following information for your shift knob:
-if it's aluminum, do you want it anodized and if so, what color
-do you want a gear shift pattern engraved?

Also, a bit of an update. Engraving is now a definite and will be thrown in free of charge for this first batch.

Thanks.
