The performance forum is going to be quiet for a while, extracting power from a small natrually aspirated engine isnt easy and and the hp per dollar is very costly.
Once a turbo/supercharged solstice comes out then this forum will wake up, a little boost controller here or a pulley and voila... instant 20-40 hp for under 100 bucks.

I would like to see, (and I suppose I will research on line)more info on boosting the ecotec motor in stock form. I know about the 1000hp thing, but that is not streetable, affordable or my interest. I am still thinking that the gxp turbo version may never materialize, and I am wanting to learn about this motor for forced incuction.
What other cars have the 2.4?? The HHR? cobalt??
I would like to know which piggyback units work . What range plugs to use when running 7psi? Does the computer retard timing in conjuction with the knock sensor? How many sensors are along the exhaust route? Is the airflow meter MAP or MAF?. how big is the exhaust stock?....Stuff like that.

As far as roadsters are concerned, I am familar with the Toyota MR2 spyder
I have ridden in a turbo version of that. It is RWD, mid engined and weighs about 2200 pounds.
It has a different motor and special problems for f/I being a rear motor car (FMIC??). I guess the miatas are a closer match for the solstice, but all in all, I want to find out more for turboing this particular 2.4 ecotec 10.6:1 CR motor

I suppose finding out who makes the roll cages for the other convertable roadsters would be helpful.

If there is any interest I have nearly 1,000 dyno file categories with well over 5,000 dyno passes (LOL our dynos have worn through one set of DRUMS!!) for tested vehicles and can post some comparitive car's dynos and descriptions of cars if you want something to discuss.

Start a list ...

The Solstice was the first car to have the 2.4L VVT ECOTEC announced for it. At the time no other car had this engine listed as being in use for it. Due to delays yes some other cars came out right before the solstice with it (ION, Cobalt, HHR, G6) but they only beat it by a couple months. Personally I'd call an enigne that's only existed on the market for maybe 6 months a new production motor.

I try and bring some stuff to the discussion table ... I have plenty of years with GM OEM products / aftermarket parts and calibrations

I think you've done a pretty good job so far of bringing a lot of informative info lately. I know I defintely love all those dyno graphs we see from you.
