Questions about Staggered Rims

I am going with 19s on the Sol!

What are ur opinions on the width i should get on the front and back. Factory is 8" so i was thinking 9-9.5 in the rear and maybe stick with 8 in the front.

Any suggestions.

I would keep 18x8 on the front and 19x10 if you can for better grip on the back.
Remember, big wheels, big weight. This way you keep the balance near 50/50.

I wouldn't be suprised if we started seeing staggered wheel packages being created eventually for our car.

Big wheels, big weight, big loss in power put to the ground. Every inch you go up in diameter (even if you manage to keep the exact same weight) is a perceived loss of 5 to 7 hp. Add that to the fact that going up in size also usually means added weight, and you're hurting performance even more.

Unsprung weight is the enemy!

Balance on a scale, yes. Balance in driving, irrelevant. As far as I remember, only sprung weight contributes to the moving balance of a vehicle. (Someone can correct me if they know for certain.)

Not really looking at loss in power. I want better grip in the rear for the added power with the turbo. And the wife wants to go up to the 19s. So I want the wider and she wants the size. Gotta keep her happy plain and simple.

Better tires will do more for grip than size ever will.

That's the reason I change to the Eagles F1's GS-D3 as soon as got the car, the RSA's are not that good.

Just realize that going to bigger/wider tires can adversly impact handling and traction if not setup correctly.
