I will own a V6 Kappa even if GM does not offer one as an engine upgrade. I have made my mind up, I want the Cadillac CTS 3.6L V6 with a 6 Speed manual tranny. And I will do the conversion my self if I have too :)

Well, actually now that I look at your picture, you are correct. Mine doesn't have that heavy plate on top. Was very easy to drill through. Thanks for the info.

To answer your other question, subjectively, I think the DDM brace made the car even more predictable under hard cornering.

Seems to me you could make this yourself with liquid urethane, a tig and some scrap. $20 tops. OK $30 if you want to powder coat it when done.
