Dejon IC Pipe Rub

Has anyone else noticed the rubbing of the passenger side Dejon IC pipe. There is a post on the GXP forum that shows a picture of the rub spot. Dejon IC Pipes Rubbing,, - Solstice GXP Owners Forums

Has anyone figure exactly where it is being rubbed from as I can not see any marks on the bolts from the hood and a close inspection doesn't show it hitting when closed.

I installed mine yesterday and have a mirror image rub ... good to see it was not just me. This is the only issue that I have with the pipes.

You have to cut off part of the mounting plastic for the stock air box on that side. He has a picture posted on his website He really needs to include directions on what to cut with all his pipe sales. I don't know why he doesn't....

I have the Fujita CAI, so it appears to be a fit issue on the products end. I hated to see it, because the pipes are sweet ... now the "nick" stands out IMO.

I have the Red Dejon IC Pipes like yours, but the CAI is the Fujita. The Fujita is GTG, but I have a rub on my Dejon IC pipe in the same spot as others. I see someone on the GXP forum put some 3M film over the area ... maybe dave should include that in the kit. Either way, the pipe on that side seemed "short" , but I heard others say that too.

I've had mine on the car for 2 months with no rub....
Ok , check this out ... my factory pipes were rubbing about in the same area.
My new Dejon pipes for some reason sit lower and further forward in the car ( actually had to make a longer connector hose to make it work ) I'll post a picture tomorrow after work.
..... just a thought .... anybody with an automatic (besides me) have these pipes on their car?

Mine did it too initially. Filled the small cut with some JB weld, and it matched the color, so I left it alone. I filed the mount on the hood a hair, and pushed the pipe further down into the intercooler connector, and disconnected the actual mount for the pipe, as it would pull the pipe up. With Tbolt clamps, the pipe is more than tight enough anyhow, and doesn't really budge much.

When you say Short? Do you mean that with the motor side connected and the brackets lined up the Pipe looks like it could be a little bit longer to fit completely in the intercooler coupling?

I noticed that my front bracket the one that mounts to the front of the car was too low, so mine isn't even connected to the car.

Whoops, missed that. I had a long day of driving yesterday, about 700-750 miles.....

Anyway, since you don't have an air box, try loosening the mount and then pushing the pipe inboard. Get someone or something to hold it in place and tighten everythin back down. Should wrk....
