We are having a serious gas shortage in the area that I live in. It's almost impossible to find regular gas and the high grade is not available.

Will using the lower grade gas impact the cars performance? Do I need to put in a additive? Not sure but could be a another week or so before high grade becomes available.

Thanks,

Sol-Candy

BTW- If you don't follow the SKY FORUM then you probably don't know that I have injured my Rotator Cuff on my right shoulder and I can't even drive my car..period. Going back to the dr.s tomorrow to see if I need an MRI. So hubby is out driving my car and he's not to happy about it.... has a hard time getting in and out..... And you know I miss driving my car....

You GXP will be OK with regular. I have ran regular in my GXP with no damage.
There will however probably be a slight loss in performance and fuel mileage.

If the car has been "tuned" however you would be well advised to stick with "Premium"

Hope your injury heals quickly and you can get back to driving.

Good luck to you and yours.

Rickey.

Sol-Candy,
I also had a torn rotator cuff. They initially had me do physical therapy, and when that didn't help, they did an MRI. I recently had shoulder surgery to repair a 75% tear in my right rotator cuff. It was outpatient surgery at least. The Dr. indicated I could be out of work for up to 3 months, but I only stayed out 4 days. Both my truck and Solstice are standards. My wife's car is an automatic but she's can't drive a standard. I drove for over 2 months, shifting with my left hand. It just takes a little planning ahead. No shifts while turning and give yourself a little extra room. At least with me, after the surgery I was allowed to grip with my right hand as long as I didn't put any weight or pressure on the shoulder itself.

I hope you heal completely without surgery. If not, go out to a little used road with your husband and try shifting left handed. You may find it easier than you expect. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I did drive my car home after it happened and I was able to shift with my left hand but there was no traffic. My only problem is that I work Uptown and I sit in bumper to bumper traffic and have to constantly be shifting...that's my real problem with driving.

I am back to the dr.s today so I'll see what he says. I have the ability to work from home which I have been doing since I hurt my shoulder so the answer could be just to continue to do that...(which would be fine by me).....
