No there isn't, when they add the front plate, the plate has two holes and they drill through them. My son's car came with the front plat installed, mine didn't
I've rejected an 08 GXP because of a rivet that held the ft. plate bracket on. Question is, when the car comes from the factory is there an indention in the bumper that marks the spot(s) where the rivets or screws are designed to be placed?
No, there are no factory plate holder marks on the front bumpers of any of the Sols, including the '08.
I think that the front tag looks really good in the trunk !

with nearly 70 plus members in our club...see my signature.....most are not running front plates at all....and only one that a Im aware of has been stopped.....and he actually wasnt stopped.....he was illegally parked in DC.....and they gave him a fix it ticket.......I beleive running w/oa fornt plate is not a moving violation in MD or VA..could be wrong..but regardless...most of us arent running a front plate...and some have been over a year without one.....

Knock on wood...I drive in MD and VA every day, no ticket yet since June 09, 2007...but you just never know...crossing my fingers and still playing the odds without one on the car!

I might have to try this if I ever get a ticket. I've only had one warning so far, so until I get an actual ticket, I'm leaving it off completely.

You better hope the officer is blind and cant see all of the dirt on your car!!!
My 08 GXP's front license plate bracket doesn't attatch to the bumper, but goes through the grille. No indentions I can see where a screw or rivet would go in.
Because I want a bit cleaner look I ordered the corvette fold-away license bracket.

If it has not been attached with screws or rivets, like mine was (@#$%^&* dealer), yes it is most likely true. Most are pressure fit into the grill and if it is you don't have to drive 350 miles. Then the corvette plane hold from FLA is the answer. Can tell you how happy I am with mine. Changes the whole look of the car from the front.

YT, as Cheers stated, it sounds like they have not attached it with the rivets then yes, they just pull it right out without any sign of it being there. To be sure just ask them if it has been screwed or riveted? If it has, they would have to do some body work (filling holes) and paint. I doubt they would go to that trouble. Let us know.

In Maryland you are required to have a front license plate. As with my Fiero GT, a front license plate ruins the appearance. Does anyone have a solution to mounting a front license plate that doesn't dramatically effect the front end appearance? Thanks, CVP
Yeah, don't do it. In California we have the same law. I have not had one on any car .for over 10 years - never go pulled over.
Live in Ohio but got my Soltice of Ebay from a dealer in Wisconsin. Ohio requires a front plate but I'm told it is not a fineable offense. I removed the front plate mount which was simply plugged into the grill then attached with some double faced tape in the middle. Easy removal. Like some others I just keep the front plate under the passenger floormat. I've not been stopped yet.
