In Maryland you are required to have a front license plate. As with my Fiero GT, a front license plate ruins the appearance. Does anyone have a solution to mounting a front license plate that doesn't dramatically effect the front end appearance? Thanks, CVP

Yea, post it on the bottom of the chassis.
Any other place looks like sh*t! That is why I do not have mine on.

If my GTX attracts as much gendarmerie attention as my Fiero did, tickets are soon to follow . One female Maryland State trooper told me that a missing front plate in Maryland is a sign of a stolen car and they look for missing plate cars. She made a U-turn on the interstate to stop me.
Dylan01 - I'd like to try what you did - but I don't know what you did! Is there a picture somewhere? Thanks, CVP

We are required to have front plates as well, but in an informal survey I conducted driving home from work last week I stopped counting cars WITHOUT front plates at 50. (My drive is only about 20 minutes, and I reached 50 in about 10 minutes) We do sometimes have checkpoints where they check DL's and safety equipment, etc., wherein you'd likely get a fix it ticket, but I am definitely willing to run the risk.

Here's how I mounted mine, follows the contour of the front end without blocking the rad intake.

Low mount with zip ties.

My final solution to the same problem with my Fiero GT was to attach two rubber hinges to a lightweight license plate bracket. The result was that the plate was always in place, but folded down and back based on the air pressure while driving. I may try it again. CVP

near baltimore here and no front plate, its been 7 months and no problems (knocking wood). i just keep mine under the passenger side floormat and my excuse will be the mounting bracket is back ordered. just cant bring myself to ruin the look of the car.

NY requires the front plate too. Only had my Sol 4 days before getting a ticket for it. But in fairness, I had been pulled over for speeding. He gave me the plate ticket instead of the speeding ticket . Cost me $105 fine. I still have not put the plate on. So far no problems, and I followed a state trooper this morning for a couple miles through town . I've also been running my kit car without the front plate since day one (8 years now). I probably only put 1 to 2k a year on that car but have never gotten a ticket for it. Had one trooper at a road block tell me to put it on, but he didn't write me ticket for it .
