meh.

Don't get me wrong, I think the yellow is hot. I realize that the car has turbo and, therefore, 47% more horsepower. But, other than that, the dual exhaust and the spoiler -- I don't see much of a difference.

I guess I'm just not the target audience. I'm very happy with my Sol for Sunday rides / errands and the occasional date with my wife. Mine suits me fine. However, I realize that there are a lot of you out there just chomping at the bit for one of these.

As I always say, that's why they make chocolate and vanilla.

Thanks Man!
I hadn't seen those yet.
I love the minimal changes for the GXP, minimal changes=minimal price increase!

I guess I look at it from a neutral view point, but I noticed a few other differences. Two small ones are the stitching on the seats and the custom GXP pods ... however the biggest difference is the front facial change.

And *** Just like that! *** it is suddenly OK to break-in your car with synthetic.

I had bought in to the myth that dino oil was required for the initial 500 miles...

That's a good point, Jimbo. I was still operating "under the myth". Read a few strong debates about break-in periods and procedures on the Honda VFR forum that started to change my thinking. Looks like the new world order has arrived.

though I don't find it really objectionable - I definately prefer the base Solstice. I do agree they needed to distinguish the GXP - maybe just the lip honeycomb - around the fog lights is just too much

I must be the only person in the world that can't tell the difference between the 2. If i was GM I would have made a BIG ASS opening for the intercooler to breathe!

It is a matter of personal choice. Some folks must have all the bells and whistles. In school, I had a buddy with a 69 Z28, but refused to ride in his girlfriends car because it was a new base 4 banger white Camaro. I just like the added power and the extra styling cues. All of the cars I've bought new have been a little more than base; a 1988 Dodge Daytona turbo, 1991 Z24, 1998 Grand Prix GTX Pace Car and 2000 Grand Prix GTP Pace Car and eventually a GXP.
