Wonder what the 2 black spots are at the top of the rear deck lid in the first series of yellow pics. Possibly pop them out and drop hard top in place.
Could also be so you know where to close the lid at.

I had an '88 Daytona... cool little cars.

Chrome around fog lights looks sharp but ventilation for Turbo would decrease!

It certainly looks great, but the square inches of space allowed to ventilate the turbo would be greatly decreased. Therefore, I would assume that performance would be compromised. I'm not an engineer but I would assume that the amount of ventilation necessary for the turbo, is what you see. Loads of engineering went into this vehicle and this was the final design. I wouldn't fool with it, or you might void your warranty. I personally prefer the original design. A little to much chrome for me.
Just a thought. Does anyone with a more analytical mind have a thought on this?

The vents around the turn signal/fog lamps are for the front brakes, not the turbo, so I don’t think restricted airflow is an issue.
While I love looking at photochopped images to see “what could be” the chrome surrounds don’t do it for me.

i personally prefer the look of the original solstice.. the spoiler took out the simple look and the beautiful curves.. also i like the simple facial on the original model.. the air intake? they added on in the gxp model took away the softiness of the front...
but overall.. just love it.. ready to order mine.. the horsepw extra is the reason i go for the gxp
my two cents

but we need more air for the turbo and to help cool those brakes so we are stuck with the vents.

Look closely.....you'll notice that the vents are larger due to designers not engineers. The actual opening is about the size of a baseball or so...actually round.

it is possible to order the GXP with or without the red stitching on the seats... no price difference. When the dealer placed my order he asked, I opted for it.

Holy old thread/question batman! I asked that question Jan 8th of this year. Just in case you dont know the seats without red stitch will also have the GXP emblem on the headrest area in an off white color.
