I was just talking to RMR now that they are home from winning races and they will be selling the HKS coilover systems. The price is a little steep, heck it's a lot steep. $1895 for the complete set. They told me if we did a group buy pre-paid of 5 or more sets they would knock off 20% for the group. Still makes them very expensive, but HKS is quality stuff. If you are interested, post here and maybe send a PM to RMMSHOP to let them know. I am trying to get some info and specs.

Just some info on them.

HKS USA Hipermax III

Quote:
HIPERMAX III
Series Concept: Designed and tuned for street application / daily driving.

With the Hipermax III suspension series, the driver gains increased wheel control with improved performance of all vehicle dynamics and increased driver command in all conditions. Hipermax III combines track-quality control with excellent ride and handling characteristics at real-world street speeds. HKS' all-new Hiper Linear Piston Fluid Channel System damping system creates a positive relationship between piston speed and damping force, making it possible to produce a suspension that provides track-level control and feedback with exceptional ride quality at the same time.
In addition, the Hipermax III is shock-body adjustable (most applications) to allow vehicle height adjustment without affecting spring rate and piston stroke. With the Hipermax III’s range of adjustability, precise corner balancing can be achieved. Chrome-plated cylinder shafts provide excellent durability and newly-design rubber upper mounts reduce harshness. (For most applications, optional spherical bearing mounts are also available for enhanced steering feedback.)

Key Features:
• Hiper Linear Piston – Linear progression piston adjusts oil passages for precise stroke management resulting in smoother valve movements. As piston speed increases, dampening rate linearly increases.
• Strengthened rubber upper mounts – enhanced durability
• Monotube design
• Shock-body length adjustable (most applications)
• 65mm diameter springs – Cold wound and manufactured in-house at HKS to ensure quality and consistency
• Stainless lock nut & ride height adjuster – feature anti-rust & corrosion characteristics for enhanced durability.
• 30-way adjustable dampening
• Hard chrome-plated cylinder shaft
• Non-electrolysis Nickel plated shock bodies provide durability in severe weather conditions.
• Pillowball upper mounts optional on certain applications
• Dustboots standard
• 1 year limited warranty

Thanks for the spec sheet. I love the adjustable ride height, keep them up for the street and drop them for the track.

I was looking at other options and this is not such a bad deal, the Koni shocks alone are about $800 then you add springs and that would be around $1200 so this matched set at $1500 for a group by is not all that bad, and they have a lot more features than the Koni's or any others I have seen.

(by the way the RMR Street Solstice that they are selling has the HKS's installed and an RMR Style bar, and custom Racing Hart wheels and Bridgestone RE-01 tires. That is about $5000 in extra's)

Actually, you can get the Koni shocks from Gravana for $600, and the springs from Kappashere for $200. Or you can purchase the Ground Control adjustable ride height kit with Eibach springs for $400. I have the Koni shocks with stock springs, and it lowered my car about 1 inch, and the handling improvement was substantial. I may add the Ground Control adjustable kit later after I get other higher priority mods first.

For more info PM RMMSHOP, hopefully they will have the answers soon. They have had a busy schedule lately, and are still prepping 2 cars for another race August 9th.

That's a lot of dough for single-only damping adjustment. And not much info. What kind of damping? Compression? Rebound? Both (cross-talk like the B&G)?

I just put in the Kappasphere springs yesterday...they are awesome...and for someone not using a track on a consistent basis, they do the trick and some...especially combined with the DDMWorks Pro Beam.

It says it's 30-way adjustable.

The HKS Japac website says the HipermaxIII coilovers are adjustable from 0mm to 49mm drop.

I've been reading about the HKS HipermaxIII on some of the import forums, and a lot of owners are saying it's the best street coilover set-up they've used. Not as good for the track as other coilovers, but best for the street and light track use. One guy on the 350Z forum swapped from KWV3 to the HKS.

If you compare the price of the KW3 at $1975 these are a lot cheaper.
The ones from Gravana, B&G are $1295.00, so these fall in the middle.
It would not be a bad idea to put a list of features side by side for comparison.

If these are single adjustable like the b&g then they're on the pricey side, if they're double like the kw's then they're cheap.
