It's official SETUP announces GMPP STAGE KIT for GXP (confirmed at MECCA II)

I just got through watching the setup episode where towards the end, they announce the GMPP STAGE kit for our GXP cars.
Since I do not know how far back this episode was film and the claim these were the first eleven in the country to be made, hopefully in the next couple of days an official announcement will be made by GMPP.
I am really glad I waited for this to happen. They said more BOOST more power and more torque.
Now let's hope the price is Right.
Brentil the SEMA guy was right about 4 to 6 month, this is GREAT news.

I don't think that's an official announcement...unless I missed something official. I'll wait for more than 'tv told me so'. Nothing is official until it's in a press release from GM.

GMPP knows what was on the show, if this product was not to ever come out it would have not been talked about or announce in the manner it was done.
I for one will be waiting to get one, and probably soon.

Did GMPP ever say what the kit consisted of? I watched the show last night, saw where they mentioned it, but never saw anything other than a box...

hopefully more than just their CAI and catback that they recently released...though it that was all I wouldn't be terribly surprised.

It is not the CAI and Cat Back, neither one of those mod increases the BOOST.
The CAI also does not do much without a tune.
This stage kit is for the ECM and the reason you see them taking the hoses off.
The kit probably has new hoses and clamps in order for the components to take the increase in boost.

My guess is that GM used the cars on the show as test mules to see how the Stage Kit would impact heat, control, etc. This is very promissing news that the Kit may still be made available.

Just came back from NOPI Florida, while there I'd ask the GM person introducing the Cobalt SS with our engine about the Stage Kit for our car.
He said is still been tested since GM wants for the Stage Kit to pass the 5 year 100K mile warranty.
He also mentioned that is about 312-315 BHP and torque and because of the increase it needs to pass all there endurance test.
So it maybe a while before this Stage Kit becomes available.

The kit is a new MAP sensor a new MAF sensor and a tune. I have 335 BHP now so, I don't need the tune, but I would love a new MAP and MAF sensor.

Thats a nice hp bump, im sure it'll pass the endurance tests. And they better add the no-lift-to-shift and launch control while they're at it.

Doubt its a maf sensor, most likely the tmap sensor on the cold side ic pipe since its a 2.5bar like the map sensor.

In the long run GM will be more expensive and most likely less power than the alternatives, they have durability tests and the EPA to answer to, independent tuners do not. If it does not meet EPA standards it has to be labeled off road use only. I wonder if the GM kit will be Ca. legal? I just hope they sell it in pieces instead of a whole kit.
