Don’t mean to sound stupid, but how does this compare to the BSR tune. I’m a little new at the GXP thing.
I’m an automotive engineer by trade.
I tweak Harley’s on the side, have my own dyno (for bikes), use an Innovate ST12 data recorder, LC1 wide band O2 sensors, EGTs, CHTs, dynamic compression sensors, MAP, CHKs, (different types for different motor styles), bla bla. I’ve pulled 125 hp (rwhp) out of a 70’s shovel head motor, carb only.
I’m learning about the strengths and weakness of this 2.0 motor. Like Compression limits, valve spring limits. RPM limits (c.i.p; take a 850 gram piston, spin it at 6400 RPM, it will see 9,000 g’s of force, which is equal to 17,000 lbs of force trying to break the piston off of the wrist pin and push the crank out the bottom of the pan, per cylinder!!), and Turbo limits.
Looking to warm up my GXP a little, 300 RWHP would be great.

The BSR tune doesn't come anywhere near these numbers, not to mention you can't have hardly any mods on it as it (BSR tune) was designed to be used on a stock car. And you pay more for the privilege of having less hp. The best thing about the BSR tune is its ease of flashing the ECU back to stock whenever you want (not sure why you'd want to do this though).

well that shoots the sh*t out of that Idea, just for laughs though, what does a BSR tune have in RWHP? anybody? please don't refer me to another thread, just a good, rough idea is fine

if i recall correctly somwhere in the 240-260 whp range. I'm already there with just bolt ons alone. 234 whp & 248 ft lbs.
The numbers are after 1000 or so miles, and it was a lousy day for a run, on a 70 degree day I would expect around 290 rwhp. I have worked with the vendor and will be installing the tune at the mod meet for anyone who pays him up front and sends in there VIN. Every tune will be custom with an anti copy bit set so you will have to have paid in advance so he can send me the tune, I make ZERO money on this, not why I am doing it. The prices and info will be on NASSOA.org next week, he has just become a supporting vendor there, you will save $100 by being a NASSOA member. The rev limiter is also set at 7000, we tried 7200 and that just seemed like to much, no power up there. First gear revs so quick we had to bump the rev limit so as to not hit the limiter. Makes the car easier to drive.
Do you have the 2006 and 2008 model-years unlocked on your HPT?

The BSR tune is about 248 - 250 WHP. no more than that. It has been tested in the 1/4 a few times and that is as much as it pulls.

I have a Harley too, and I do the tuning on it, Twin Tec ECM, I did not do the Solstice tune. I will have the ability to tune all the years as long as I know in advance what I will need. Right now I just have the 2007 Solstice and 2004 GTO unlocked. This is a hot tune, it has just been installed on a GXP with a stock intercooler to see how it performs, it should present no issues. There are milder tunes available as well. I know there may even be updates to this tune before April. The tuner has a 2008 GXP going on the dyno again next week for more tuning.

Wohoo. I have that tune now, man does it kick you back into the seat. 23lbs of boost in every gear. I need to get to a dyno. I only have the Magnaflow and Solo CAT, Dejon Spring. My last Dyno was 238 RWHP with no tune.

What tune? I see in your mod list it is the Westers Garage tune done with HP Tuner? Is that still the case? Reason I ask is that the BSR tune is supposed to give 23 PSI of boost in ever gear... but the BSR tune doesn't work on my car.
Wester Garage Tune v4, I just put it on last night. I need to update the mod page.

Westers is not sending this out via HPT anymore, there were piracy issues. DeepblueGXP is a preexisting customer and Wester needed a test car with the stock intercooler You must send in your ECM for the tune now. The tunes are VIN locked now to prevent copying. Each car gets a custom tune.
