I just reach 500 miles tonight, I have been waiting for that moment. I drove the car carefully during the break in except during my test drive. I pushed hard on the car today to experience the power.
My impression:
What I like:
1- The power: The car is very powerful, I was very impressed with the response. it is breathtaking. I have driven many powerful cars including M3 BMW. I do have an infiniti FX which is powerful but this car is more powerful. the acceleration is amazing. it makes you feel high. without knowing you are arround 80-90 miles/h.
2- More refined than my base. I like having the lock/unlock switch. I like the premium headliner. I like the Logo on the seats.
3- the handeling is impressive and the car is very steady on high speed.
4- The look is unbelievable, I had the base for 11 months then I got the GXP and the car still look as beautiful. It is just perfect looking where you look at it.
What I do not like:
1- The cup holders: I wish GM had fixed this issue since I had my 2006 base.
2- I prefer my 2 tones leather that I had with my base but it does not come with GXP.
3- The is air sound at over 65 m /h speed (i had it with the base), the insulation is not that good.
4- I wish there was more storage space. However, this car is a second or a third car.
The problems:
1- My driver buttress is not going all the way back when released. I will wait a little before I take it to the dealer.
2- the seats are little wrinkled, I will keep eye on them.
I am enjoying this car, I am happy that I got this instead of my base. I was just missing the power in the base otherwise it was a great car.

I haven't heard of anyone who has not been happy to upgrade from the base Solstice to a GXP. LatinVenom thinks the GXP may not be as responsive as his base car, but has yet to set it up with the same GS-D3 tires his base car rode on, so the jury is out.
Birdliver said he missed the sense of involvement his Solstice demanded to get the most out of it, but my impression is that he is not at all sorry to have swapped for a GXP.
If someone on this forum swapped a base Solstie for a GXP and found it to be an all-around inferior driving experience, I have yet to hear from him. Speak now or forever hold your peace!
That said, I knew the increase in power would transform the driving experience. And you said it better than I ever could with your statement "it makes you feel high." I understand completely what you mean.

I am having the same top buttrice problems as you. I have yet to take it to the dealer for a fix....waiting for warmer weather to see if all the top issue resolve themselves. My top (as compared to my n/a) is VERY tight, acutally pulling up the driver's side trunk lid about an 1/8 of an inch. Experience tells me that by the end of the summer, the top won't be as tight, and possibly the top won't pull up the deck lid.
The right side won't release completely. actually scarping the deck lid. I am waiting to see if use and warm will releive this problem.
Minor in comparison to my LOVE of the car.

Jimbo:
Finally found a dealer that had a set of GS-D3's, they should arrive sometime today hopefully, if not then next week.
If I get them today then after puting a few miles on them, will go ahead and do the same test as the GS2's and see if the GXP behaves any diferent with them.

I had my '06 for 8 months & ordered the GXP as my wife wouldn't drive the stick. I actually got more for the'06 than I paid for it considering what I saved on sales tax. I had to do without the car for 3 months while they gave birth to the GXP. I like this car much better even though it's auto. First auto I've had that will redline itsself. I don't think I could of made myself do that with a stick. Any ideas how to keep the cat off it other than giving him anti-freeze?
