Thanks Goat, I'll wait and send it out on Monday, just to be safe. I have no experience with this, so I'll trust yours. He didn't sound too thrilled with HP tuners, but I can understand why. I'm sure he'll do what he can for his customers though.

To say he is not thrilled with HP tuners would be putting it mildly, I won't get into the HPT thing, lets just say it is great for us and sucks for people who make a living tuning cars. Eileen is the shipping department for Westers, she is AWESOME! The Canadian Customs people, while I am sure they are just doing there jobs, not so much, they act like Canada is a whole different country or something.

Oh yeah, that might be the most important part. You definitely don't want to fry it. I disconnected the battery first.

Well, I spent some more money. Didn't want to do this part way, I talked to Dejon Dave yesterday and ordered up the complete aluminum piping, intercooler and intake system in Agressive red. Should have that first of next week, but probably 2 weeks from the install.
Then I talked to Lyndon Wester and ordered the "hot tune" from him. But because I ALSO wasn't interested in shipping out my ECM without a replacement, I went to Sara at the Kool Chevy dealer in Sturgis and ordered a NEW ECM for Lucy. She told me they WERE available from the FACTORY, but shipped to Willow Run, and then to Sturgis. About a week before it's in, HOPEFULLY! $375+tax. Sara is the "Guru" of new parts locating, as she has never let me down yet, nor the service dept. My local Pontiac dealer parts guy just goes "DUHHH ?????" when I have asked him about or for something. A REAL ZERO! Sara will pull thru for me. SHE found the shorty antenna and splash guards when the guy across the street said they weren't available!
So Wester's will HOPEFULLY get a new ECM for Lucy's tune.

Hey Lil Goat,

Contacted Melanie and joined NASSOA. I had a lot of issues with downloading the registration form, but it is done. I did call Lyndon this afternoon, but they were out of the office. He e-mailed me and said they would be back on Monday. I am going to get the tune from him as well. I am going to get with my service guy and see about an ECM. Will keep you in the loop. Have a good Easter weekend all. Cheers,

Howie

Cheers was able to get an new ECM from GM parts direct and has a shipping confirmation. So it would seem GM has finally loosened it's grip. I am sure you guys will be pleased. It still seems that if you have a high flow exhaust you have to back off the wastegate mod a couple of threads if you have it, funny thing is with the stock exhaust you don't. The cel you get is a P0106 MAP sensor error. That makes some sense, but not getting it with the stock exhaust and the tune doesn't make much sense to me.

So, as long as I get my NASSOA membership cleared and my order int o Wester's by the end of the month I'm good? I'm working on an ECM, but won't be able to get it to them by them by the end of the month.

So, I have money for a Magnaflow or this tune...I'm guessing the tune is more fun by a lot...right??

just saw this thread and would love to get in on the ECM deal. I have a 2008 Redline and was wondering if this tune is strictly for 2007, or is it compatible with 2008 vehicles? thanks.

You will feel many more differences in the response of your Sol with the Tune than the exhaust!

Having had a different tune on my '06 prior to making any mods I can tell you the TUNE is the best place to start! From what I understand with the Wester's though you will need to tell him what mods you intend to do - i.e. the exhaust, cai. He can program those in with your first tune. Any mod after that you would just sent your ECM back for updates.

Westers told me anyone who prepays will get the discount, you can get the tune anytime after that. Eileen will work with you on the NASSOA membership, you can pre pay and as long as she has the membership before you get the tune you are good. I know the membership committee is getting the memberships out as quickly as they can.

I order my Dejon Intercooler and IC Piping hopefully it will be here by wednesday.

I am planning on installing it on Thursday...

I am planning on going on the NEO SOS 3/29/08 run (weather permitting)

I will have to pre-pay Wester's for the tune because I don't think if I sent my ECM out on Monday that I would get it by Friday.
