Do you have a default scan setup we, dashhawk users, can do to send to him?

I got a little knock in 4th gear going hard from about 55-60 mph. But that only happens on occasion. I do still have the WG mod all the way up. So I am going to back it off a few threads just to be sure. Probably a good Idea for everyone to not to run it to the end that is getting this tune.

I am not sure Lyndon can read a Dashawk scan, someone thats knows more about the Dashawk can answer that. what he wants to see are MAP, MAF, BOOST, and when the timing gets pulled to prevent knock. I am not sure how to set the Dashawk up for that. I bet JustMike or Shabby will know. Wester is trying to do a tune that will work on every car, the more data he can get from cars with different mods the better off we are. It would seem that backing off the wastegate should take care of any problems with knock, or adding octane booster This is where the larger intercooler helps, knock is caused by preignition which is caused by heat, a cooler charge will help reduce heat and preignition. I think I will back off my wastegate to stock just to see what kind of a change I notice. It maybe with the HOT tune the wastegate mod is not necessary.

The logs from the Dashhawk are CSV files at the end of the day so you can just dump them in Excel if you have to. Jim there are some PIDs that are in HP Tunes that are not in the Dashhawk IAT2 for example. I also think that there are also some PIDs that are in the Dashhawk that are not in HP Tunes. It would help if we coculd get a list of must have PIDs from Lyndon along with the nice to have and then I can work up some configs. Keep in mind that the Dashhawk is limited on the number of PIDs that can be recorded. It is pretty low compaired to HP Tuners, 5 or 6 at the most.

Lil goat,
I have my wastegate backed off about 6 threads so far with no MAP codes. The newest tune that I am testing for the automatic is learning in. I have sent Lyndon 2 scans also, which he has been looking at. He sent me an updated file yesterday and I am letting it learn in before I scan it. I am a bit impatient when it comes to this, but I am holding myself together...lol. I was able to run the car to 120mph on the latest scan, and that thing was there quick, let me tell you. I am reducing the threads on the wastegate mod one by one until I throw a code or knock, and then I will back off one and know that I am at the threshold. I also have the intercooler, SOLO RCD exhaust, and HF cat.
Lyndon can tell you better what he wants to see from the Dashawk, I am just using my HPT, send him an email.

I just use the stock file with the laptop. I have a 12V power cord for my laptop so I can run scans all day.

I use the VCM Scanner and I did not change anything so I guess I am using the strock configuration. Lyndon uses something on his end to make the results more accurate. I think he had said a cfg file or something.
I just got an email from Lyndon and he is recommending that when you do the tune you set the wastegate to stock and then move it a little if you want and see what happens. Like Spikey is doing, with the variance in gasoline and altitudes and temps around the country this is a good way to start. I set mine to stock and will most likely just move it up a little. It is a bit smoother at the stock setting but I lost 1lb of boost. I don't miss it, I can still get completely sideways from a stop with the traction control off. It has plenty of power. If you want to push it just add some octane booster and have at it, like before going to the track.

I have a 2008 GXP. Is there a new chip/program available? How much do they cost? Are there instructions on where and how to take out the chip and reinstall?
Thanks
Where is the meeting on 12 April. I too, wish to attend and get the Wester's chip and a few other upgrades. And, looking forward to meeting all of the NASSOA members. ( sending in my application today!)
