I think GMPartsDirect monitors my posts here, because any time I post about them taking a while to ship...they ship my part later that day.
So I get my new ECM on Wednesday this week. I have read the whole thread about shipping to Wester's and feel secure with the 'procedure'. Does anybody have any new tips or experience with shipping this out and avoiding any hassle? I'd love to not have to wait until a week from Friday to get my ECM back, but if waiting until Monday to ship it out is the best thing then that's what I'll do.

I'm in the same boat. I installed my Dejon Intercooler and Piping and trying to troubleshoot a low boost problem. I removed and re-installed my piping last night and will test it today...If the boost problem is fixed I will probably mail my ECM out today.
If not then I am thinking I need to wait until Monday next week to ship it.

If you ship it Global Express (FedEx through the post office) you should be fine. It costs more but sure works better, takes about 3 days instead of 2 weeks. Westers gets them back really fast. Make sure you put in a note auto or manual just to be safe, Westers is getting a lot of ECM's.

I 100% plan on getting a websters tune for my 08 RL.Also was planning on getting the bigger I/C and the CAI.Should I wait to do these things or just tell websters that I am doing it?
Any help is appreciated

Thanks, that's a good idea about identifying the trans type. I also plan on putting a copy of my original NASSOA order form with my new ECM. I figure they need more than just my return address to identify all the stuff they have going through the shop.

Same here, hopefully my boost problem is fixed and I can shoot it in the mail tomorrow

Is everyone running 93 octane gas with this hot tune? Do you know if it's required? I just got the tune back and WOW - night and day difference. I need to re-learn how to drive this wild thing.
I got P0101 code today, but I have the Fugita CAI and after market BOV without recirculation. It never caused the code before the tune, but I guess with the tune, I should disconnect the BOV first and hopefully I can get away with the fugita cai still installed. We'll see.
That's the good old MAF code, most likely being caused by the Fujita. You could also try cleaning the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner. I think Spikey had some issues with the MAF. Yes run the highest octane you can find. At 23 lbs of boost you want high octane.

I disconnected my BOV and that has fixed the P0101 code from showing up. So, for now I will remain using the Fugita CAI since it doesn't appear to throw any codes. Thanks for all the info. Great tune!

Well if your using a BOV that vents to atmosphere your engine will be getting less air than expected.
It's assuming the amount of air the MAF sensor reads is actually making it through the engine (assumes it's a closed system so what goes in equals what comes out). but if there is an unknown amount of air (to the ECU) that is venting to atmosphere before it gets through the engine the computer will think there is something wrong with the MAF sensor and throw the code you speak of.
You really need to use something that re-circulates back into the intake (not a BOV) this way the ECU sees all the air it's expecting.
Sure you might not get as loud a BOV sound but the car will perform better.
or if the BOV does re-circ into the intake it could be a boost leak for the same reasons.
That’s how i know the basics.
But this is the internet and i could be one of those people who like to talk out of their arse like it's a scientific fact.
Sorry to waste time if somebody else has already said this.

Interesting... I currently drive a car that doesn't have a MAF, only a MAP sensor. I was thinking about putting the HKS on my sol when I got it, but maybe this isn't an option. Where abouts is the MAF located on the Sol? In theory, if you put the BOV before the MAF, you'd be OK, but if the MAF is before the turbo, that ain't gona work.
