My understanding of how the HKS works, this isn't the case. The boost actually keeps it closed, and it requires a vacuum source to open it.

This might be why mine still occassionally gets the P0101 code. I just have it capped off and the vacuum disconnected...I might as well just remove the pipe all together and go back to the factory IC pipe without the BOV attached. Shabby, would this help?

The hks is a rare breed of bov's, its a pull type. Meaning the more pressure the tighter the seal. Our bov is a push type, meaning the pressure from the vacuum hose and the spring inside it keeps it closed. Once you remove the vacuum hose only the spring keeps it closed, and since the spring is pretty flimsy it cant do that when theres 20psi of pressure on the other side.

You can connect the stock bov and run it with the other one and see how it runs. It should run better than without the stock bov since only "half" the air is venting.

Sorry, you're totally right. I had thought he had said he had an HKS on, but I guess it was only cuz I was thinking about doing the same thing with an HKS when I get a Sol. I'm guessing, from what I see here, that I shouldn't and I should just stick with the stock recirc valve?

<reads the rest of the post... duh...>

Or, should I leave the stock recirc in place, but then put the HKS in as well? Actually, now that I I think about it, this is how my GF's is set up on her PT...

Would it make a difference if I put the HKS on the hot side or cold side pipe?

<thinking and planning ahead>

Come to think of it im not sure which bov magazine has, i quickly read his last post and assumed it was the stock one he disconnected but it wasnt. It feels like he has the hks one since he disconnected it, now its sealed no matter what, and the cel went away.

Just wait till spiky3480 runs both bov's and see if it fixes his cel.

It doesnt..Ive been running both together since the first day. I never disconnected the factory one. It still causes a CEL. I am going to remove the aftermarket HKS all together, because I might have a small leak at the BOV.

I have the HKS BOV. I currently have it on my cold side IC pipe. I am going to leave it on because I like the full bore pipe, but the BOV stays shut if the vacuum is removed. Shabby is right about the pull type. It doesn't leak and all my codes have disappeared since removing the vacuum. I just capped the T coming off the manifold. Sorry for the confusion. I should have specified what BOV I was referring to.

If it gets there Westers should have it out by Monday at the latest. They got mine to Canada in 1 day, but took 3 more to get it to Westers via Global Express, I sent one Priority Mail took 2 weeks to get there. The extra money is worth it.

My ECM is with FedEx here in Detroit. Since it's DIRECT signature required I'm not able to get it until I get a chance to go there to pick it up. I wish my dog could sign with the fedex guy! lol anyway I should get it out by monday to them i hope.

For anyone still wondering.

I adjusted my waste gate to stock and still got 22 psi this morning. The re-adjustment dosn't seem to change that much. The car is also not as jumpy with the stock settings.
