It didnt go easy like a pie last Sat for Deepbluegxp and I...lol loaded stock tune, got errors, send tune to Lyndo until Deepbluegxp figured out the errors, fix errors, but never was able to get a ho,d of lyndon that day so now Deepblue has my tune and im here crazy waiting to see when can I go down to see Deepblue to get the tune installed...lol

It took approximately 45 seconds to upload that file into his car...and off he went with a big smile. I took a test drive with him and he said he could instantly feel the power. He used to race cars, so for him to be happy was a really good thing. He commented that it is a significant change from stock and he was extrememly happy, especially for the price. I need to get rights to the 08 models so I can tune them too. Noone in my area has the HP Tuners software, and I am not out to make any money off of it...just want to help fellow club members.

Some of his additional comments were:
  • The car feels just as smooth as stock, but with a ton more power...even during local driving
  • I am going to have to upgrade the tires, because the stock ones seem to be having a ton of trouble sticking to the ground now

Hmm don't know what happened. I installed one in a manual 2008 GXP and one in an automatic 2007 GXP. There were no issues and Lyndon was available by phone.

If you are in the NY area, maybe I could put the tune in for you.

If you can find someone with HPtuners in central California they can install it for you.

or you can buy HPtuner....so you can download the tune yourself!

HPTuner is very good to have since you can go back and forth from race tune to OEM tune...........and you can scan and data log what's going on with your car (AFR, KRs, and etc).

I was thinking that way - How much of a pain is it? So western tune can be done with the HPtuners, I wasn't clear about that- What about the update/recall done on my current ECM how does the western deal with those? Thanks All
I am quite good with computers and sofware.

My problem was with HPTuners, not Lyndon. I emailed Bill@HPT and he sent me a fix and I was able to open the 2008 stock tune and register the 2008 Solstice model year. It was then a waiting game for the new tune from Lyndon. Yahoo was screwing up also. I had emailed Lyndon @ Westers and he didn't get my emails until Monday morning. I'll be heading over to ImpallaSS tonight to put on the tune.

GREAT - and you answered another question of mine about the original tune -
So I could de-tune back to how it was (why I don't know - but I could) and does it save it to a disk of within the HPTuner? Thanks All

You can tune back whenever you want if you have the HP Tuners software and a laptop. It saves as an .hpt file on whatever laptop you use, not in the software itself. I tend to save mine on my computer AND email the file to myself and keep it in an HP Tuners folder within my email in case my computer gets erased or crashes.
