I for one appreciate the time Lyndon and LilGoat have spent to help develop what I think is a tune that is very impressive from a stock vehicle. The price he offering it is better then fair and I easily and willingly paid for it. I don't have the time and knowledge as he does, so its fair to compensate one for there efforts. Anyway enough said, just want to make public that I think his efforts are appreciated.

Lil' goat, Is Lyndon tuning your car considering the intercooler? I am only asking because I thought he did not have an upgraded intercooler to test with. I am seriously considering this tune. Sounds great, If I understand correctly you don't need the IAT2 device? I am also looking for opinions on Hahn vs. Dejon intercoolers!!
Thanks

The tune takes advantage of the intercooler and you will see more HP than a none upgraded car, what he has done is make the tune work with or without. He set the tune so it will not go into limp mode with an intercooler and can take advantage of the increased air density of the IC. He did tell me today that the tune for the 2008 is about a month out, he has a 2008 GXP and the ECM is different. I have been his test mule for the 2007 tune along with some other secret agents, there are a couple of us who have a lot if time in testing the tunes because it has been frozen up North and he couldn't do much testing. All the testing I have been doing has been with the HP tuners version of the tune. He will not be selling this version. He has developed a new system with copy protection. He has had his own software for some time he has adapted it to the GXP is what I understand.
The intercoolers, they all are better than stock. I have the Dejon, Dave made me a sweet deal. I know everyone has been happy with the RPI and the few threads I have read people seem happy with the Hahn. If progress continues on the tunes there may come a time that the extra capacity of the Hahn will be advantageous. I am not sure we have reached that point yet.

So I can get the tune now and when I replace the IC it will automatically be set up for it?

I have the same tune as LILGoat and I don't have the intercooler, so YES

You will have to put a roll of quarters in your sock and walk backwards around the car 3 times while singing the Canadian National Anthem in French but after that you will be good.... sorry, yes it will work fine.

I'll chime in here.. but only in a good intention sort of way.
I would be all over this tune, if I could revert back to stock without sending in my ECU. I run in stock Autocross class, and need the stock tune for that. On the street and other times I would love to enjoy the extra power of the tune.
As I said, this post was only meant with good intentions. I understand the piracy issues of the past, and actually commend Lyndon for taking action. I only hope he can find a way that protects his work, but allows for simple reflashing at home. There's a small market of folks in situations like myself that he could tap into... I just hope it's worth his time and effort to be able to provide a product for us.
I know I could track down a second ECU and all of that.. and maybe that's an option in the future, but the self flashing would be great.

Keep up the great work everyone.
This is something I would like as well. When I had my BMW Z3 I bought a Conforti Shark injector which would save off your stock tune and install the performance tune. When you needed you can reinstall the stock tune and save off the performance tune. The first time you used the unit, it saved the car identification (maybe Vin number) so it could never be used on another car again.
Lyndon went down that road, and found his tunes for sale on another forum. Now you option is to buy a second ECM, that makes it about $750 for the tune and the ECM. Still cheaper than some alternatives. This tune is more than you would expect. There should be some more installed over the next couple of weeks. I will let the tune speak for itself. It is a 60 rwhp increase and about 80 ft/lbs of torque, that is over a 1/3 increase in torque. By the way this is the way real performance tunes are done on all cars. The hand held loaders are very mild in comparison, they have to be by the nature of what they are, they are a great option but offer less of a performance increase. I am sure many of you will know some one who gets the tune over the next couple of months, go for a ride. By the way I told people to get the tune and HP Tuners some time back, there would the code would be cracked and updates were free. The people who did are still getting support to be able to swap tunes. Westers has a copy of there factory ECM, so he can install the tune and the lock it.

Just want to say that I will be helping with obtaining dyno pulls. It's expensive for Lil Goat to get dyno's all the time, so once I get tuned at the mod meet, I'll get a dyno pull to see how i'm doing. I go to the same shop all the time for my dyno's so the comparison is valid. I may not have the same numbers as Goat, but i have my own dyno's at several stages to compare to what I put down with the tune to confirm everything. Plus by then, I'll have driven 1,000 miles so I should get a good finalized number.
This is a new tune Westers calls HOT. It has a 7000 rpm red line and pulls 23 psi from about 3200 to red line, the 7000 just really helps in 1st and second so you don't bang the rev limiter, it raps quick. Here is the sheet, this was a pull to 6200, dyno was reading 1000 rpm low compared with the HP tuners scan I ran at the same time. Speedo read 130. The best pull was 286.3 and 313 on the torque. This shows how flat the torque curve is, peak torque is at about 3200 rpm and stays pretty flat, so it slams you into the seat.

I guess I still have one question that I just can't seem to find the answer to: Has Wester's broke the RPM rev' limiter yet? I know that these turbos have rpm limits, but a larger turbo SHOULD be able to handle more RPMs, in my book? I'm thinking 7,500-8,000 RPMs. I like Dejon's CAI and intercooler kit, primarily for the red powder coating. Plus, he is offering larger turbo kits. Others are available, also. Seems to me 5,000 RPMs is a little low for these engines. Am I wrong here? I want a tuner, but I won't buy one UNTIL I am convinced that the rev' limiter is unlocked. THAT is MY hold up.

My rev limiter is set at 7200rpm with the Wester's tune. I am doing some of the testing for the automatics. This tune kicks major a**. Everything lil goat says has been correct. The torque is very consistent and the thing pulls like hell into the higher rpm's.

I think my stock rev limiter is set for about 6,250 or something just south of 6,500???
