Just plunked in the Westers ECU .......I suddenly smell a lot of hot rubber even with tc on and notice chasis torque. This car just went from very quick to explosive. The tune kicks a** and I notice I am getting over 20 mpg driving agressively.
Wait until the initial excitement of the tune settles down in a few months (if it ever does that is!). After I had the tune for several months I noticed that my average fuel economy increased about 3 MPG. I drive mostly mixed city traffic conditions and rare highway miles and am getting about 24 MPG.

i just put the tune on myself and WOW. im feel like im driving my old gto again! i really think the car launched properly is very capable of running a time under 13.0 with the right driver. i recently moved so once i find the local track i will see what i can do with it.

The computer will adjust, but no it will no way go back to factory.
I got an email from Lyndon last night, he asked me to let everyone know his Superflow Dyo will read about 20% lower than a DynoJet. He had that confirmed by Superflow. So when you see a 200 rwhp on a Superflow, think of it as 240 rwhp on a DynoJet.

Has anyone with the tune noticed that the computer tries to reset back to factory or is this prevented thru the new tune
Lyndon emailed my race tune today and I used my HPT to load it in and went for
a drive. I have read others reports on their results on 07 GXP and a few on 08's
and most said OMG, what a rush so I had fairly high expectations.
AllI can say is Oh @%#^ when I went part throttle in 2nd gear- 25 psi in aheartbeat
and tires went up in smoke. 3rd gear pulled so hard I could hear the chassis straining
to the torque load from motor. This is a torque MONSTER!!.
As to your question- no hard results yet but 1st couple wot runs were 2nd and 3rd gear short wot runs which showed 25 psi initial on guage and dropping to 23 psi or so. Later
it seemed to have either learned a little or pulled a little from timing reduction as I saw 23-25 psi dropping to 21 psi. Later tho, I saw 25 psi so I really have not had enough time yet so see the range od boosts. Gotta runs so scans so I can see if any knock retard or other
problems.
Lyndon said his 08 is showing better mileage too- about 7L/100 km which is about
34 mpg. I usually see 30 or so on highway.
One of the reasons, I picked Lydon is his many years of experience in tuning GM
ecms and the good chance that his tunes do not just raise the air load tables but look at
all aspects of the tune, making sure all protection measures are still in place and not
just removed cause it is easy.

The tune does level off a bit as it learns, that is a design of Bosch. But it is still a kick in the pants. I have a new test tune from Lyndon, 2 days now. mileage is about 26 combined, and he went a bit more agressive on this one, it is for crazy people like me when you get in it it pulls very hard, then all the sudden at about 3200 rpm, it shoots up to full boost and stays there, not as smooth as his other tunes it slaps you back in the seat and you better hang on you are going for a ride. Remember that I have been running a Westers tune for over a year and this latest test tune is well I will quote Lyndon " it's a little bit nuts up top" I can't wait to get out of town and really play with it. This tune is NOT yet available, but I am sure it will be soon, it sometimes is fun to be the test goat.

lil goat, since you're gonna be "playing up top", I am wondering if youo have norm's splitter, it's supposed to address one of our biggest drag problems, the exposed front wheels...since I've been told our car becomes unreuly over 130 I am hoping norms splitter calms her down a bit
I believe that I am running a Westers tune similar to lil goat's, excpet for the automatic. It is seat of your pants fast up top, and definitely kind of crazy. I have about 105 miles on this tune and it has not backed off at all. Strong power is present all of the way to redline, and 4th gear pulls like crazy...there is no need for more power than this unless you are racing the car at a track...and even so you'll be just fine with this tune. I still think Westers has the most extensive and complete tune available. For those that don't know, Lyndon is a tuning guru and has tons of experience cracking and modifying GM tunes.
Does anyone know an appx 0-60 with this tune? Does it void the power train warranted?
No it does not "void" the powertrain warranty. Only salvage, fraud, and pre-production captured fleet vehicles get "voided" out of hand. Will installing ANY item, including software, that increases car's hp above factory setting possibly result in GM denying warranty coverage for a failed component under the powertrain warranty IF GM determines said install was a contributing factor in the failure? A big, fat YES! And that includes, for the umpteenth time, any Genuine GM Performance Parts purchased foprm your friendly neighborhood dealer.
Sorry for the rant, but this gets old. The warranty does not get voided, but is in jeopardy. Now one thing to consider, if you have a failure GM will have dealer check the VIN coded in the ECM and only a few companies I know of have a completely invisible to GM tune.

And GM can see if an ECM has been reflashed correct? So only way around it is to buy a brand new ECM to swap basically?
Well, the jury is still out on the GM being able to read if a BOSCH (GXP) has been reflashed, yes they can on the NA ECM. The vin is not changed when the ECM updated when it is flashed, unless you do it intentionally, and it will only change to what the vin for the car is (read from bus), unless you have some very special tools.
The 0-60 times I have seen personally are in the low 4's I have not done a run with my latest tune but cracked 4.5 pretty consistantly with earlier tunes, should be even faster now.
