So I'm not saying that this is in place right now ... remember that the ECU is not the only computer in cars today. Most of the time you also have a BCM and since they both talk to each other over the bus would not take much to have one report or store that the other was changed.

With HP tuners you can always put it back to stock easily enough, and from what I have been told dissconnect the battery and it will show the same as if it was reflashed and all systems will show matching timecodes.

Lyndon said himself that they can tell. Said there is a "flash counter"
When you recieve the car it's at flash count 1, and everytime you reflash it, the count goes up. That's just what i was told.

And yes i asked him "even if you flash it back to stock with hpt?"

Question to you tuners out there?

Does anybody know if the information contained at this URL is flashed/read from the ECM when it's in for service, or was this just an original factory calibration history report?

Just put in your VIN# and select ECM from drop down selection and look at Full Calibration History Report.

On Star reads ECM data, and some dealers may but I doubt it if it's not needed, costs money to do unessecary labor.

There is a flash counter in the Bosch, it is mandated by the German Gov't to make sure that the ECM has not been reflashed for Enviromental rasons. We still do not know if the dealer can read the flash count with a Tech II, but the factory sure can. There is no evidence GM is using this YET, but if you are in Germany watch out.

Lyndon is awesome. It never took 24 hours for him to reply to my emails. Sometimes we'd go back and forth 3 or more times in a day. Heck, sometimes i'd see that he responded at odd hours of the day/night. I've had nothing but a great experience with Westers. I shipped my extra ecm out to him Sept 22nd, i cant wait til i get it back!!

Has anyones solstice gxp failed with this tune? Im very interested in the racing tune, however im curious upon the reliability factor in terms of the a/f ratio, and timing and the overall engine life.

No failures, Lyndon has been at this a very long time, I am the manual test mule, or test goat if you will, along with my bud auto spikey. I think I have had at least 30 tunes by him on my GXP, there have been some very minor issues, that is why I test them. I have never had any damage or been left stranded. The only issue I have had is some very close calls with the Police and me driving to damn fast, oh and a few very pissed off Mustang owners to name a few.

I have the 23 psi tune on an otherwise stock GXP and have had zero issues with the tune over the past 6 months or so.

HA I can agree with my manual bud lil goat. This tune has never given me any issues to leave me stranded, and I have also tested numerous tunes. There have been little things, like lil goat said, but Lyndon always fixes it with the next test tune.I have had some close calls with the police also, but the one time they pulled me over, they asked me about my car and let me go...LOL. I was extremely lucky because I was doing about 95, and trust me when I tell you that you get to 95 really quickly.

Can you purchase the ECU upgrade without having to send in your current core? If not, can you obtain another ecu and have it sent in, and if so, is there a good place to find one?

I really prefer to have my stock in case the car has to be repaired under warrenty.
